Wednesday walk challenge Tudor City Greens and Steem Basic Income Give away
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Try to limit yourself to a set distance or time from the starting location, say 5 Blocks, 5 Minutes walk or whatever and see what you can find in that short distance
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all.
Following me and resteeming the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion, but you may have a better chance of receiving a Steem Basic Income Share if you do.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, resteem and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk, plus I will be sending @steembasicincomeshares to a selection of those who participate.

This weeks walk Around the duck pond.
I have to admit that I haven't been as active walking recently due to being busy at work with early morning Meetings or video Conferences and the cold weather slowing me down, but I still try and get 10K steps in a day, but not so much of the steps with the camera, however this week one lunchtime I did take a walk around Tudor City on the East Side of Manhattan near 42nd Street, its a charming little area and I got some shots of the Little parks there for this weeks walk

Here is one of the signs as you enter one of the little Parks in Tudor City, in WInter it sperhaps the greenest thing in the parks, but as you can see there is still some nice naturla greens in the parks.
On their Website they say the following about the Greens
Tudor City Greens, Inc. (the Greens) is a New York 501(c)(3)not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to preserve and enhance Tudor City’s two landmarked parks. The parks are located on Tudor City Place on either side of East 42nd Street, east of Second Avenue. The Greens was formed in 1987 to assume ownership and responsibility for the parks, under the auspices of The Trust for Public Land, when Tudor City buildings were being converted to cooperative ownership by the sponsor, Time Equities.
. The parks are a focal point for the community and are actively used by residents and Tudor City neighbors alike. While they are privately owned, the parks are open to the public each day from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. They have been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and are part of the Tudor City Historic District, which was designated by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1988.

The two parks are quite charming and I often walk by them in breaks from the office or as I head out for lunch each working day

The park has little squares laid out in both of the parks with plenty of seating, in Winter you do not often see people there but in summer at lumch time I have often seen moost of the seats taken with people having lunch outdoors in the sun.

At this time of year most of the trees are pretty bare, but even bare some have a cool feel to them such as this one. they have plenty of lamps in the park, including one old one with cool style but that will be for another post

Steem Basic Income give away

What is Steem Basic Income you may ask well here is how they explain it

You always take the nicest shots of NYC. I find it amazing that you spot and capture such perfect little moments in your day. You even pay attention to the lines in the picture or perhaps that is an innate sense?

Very nice shots as usual. That looks like a cool little area to hang around it. I enjoy seeing the different sides of this part of town that you share with us.

As for Wednesday Walk, I have only guidelines and not rules, and no expectation to do the walk and share it onthe same, day infact I never do that myself, the walk can be any day you like, and even from a while back not necessarily that day or week, but hopefully the challenge motivates people to try and get out for a walk each week witht heir camera or phone to get shots to share sometime :)
Oh okay!! Haha, I always wanted to try, but I know myself. I wont go walk, take photos, come back, edit AND make a post, all on Wednesday...

I once started a 365 Challenge to take edit and share just a single photo a day and only got about 100 days in before I messed up and missed a day and failed the 365, now I just edit when I am in the mood and share as I like, and hence why I didnt make the Wednesday Walk a you must do it all in a day challenge :)
Love this idea. Been seeing a few posts on it every week but hesitant to join in until today. Seeing these guidelines is very helpful, thank you much for posting and looking forward to more Wednesday walk photos from you and others.

Thanks and I am pretty laid back with this hence guidelines and not rules, the basic idea is simple try to get out for a walk each week with cellphone or camera and share the sights you see, I ask if possible to share the post on a Wednesday but the walk can be any day :)
Hey Jay, good to see you still walking when you can. Jeez 10,000 steps a day would be quite a big achievement for anyone. Who has the time? Are you doing the actifit thing?

Part of my Walking is my Hyper side, I cannot even stand still while waiting for the train to arrive, and I always get to places between 5 and 10 Minutes early so I Pace up and down the platform while i wait.
Same at work, Most I can sit at my desk is 30 Minutes or so then I need to stretch my legs, and always take a good walk after lunch, it all adds up
I have tried to use actifit but had issues logging into it and never tried again, Maybe i should

It is good to keep active no matter how much or little. You seem to have a bult in advantage with the hyper thing.
I haven't tried the actifit program. I'm not much of a joiner of things.
I do like the fact tha actifit keeps track of steps however the one thing i dont like is you have to post your steps as a post from the app, as you know I post photos, and hate the idea of doing a post from the app and then having to edit it to add mto my normal post style, if they allowed producing a code I could add into a post I preapare on MY pC then I would be more keen on it

There's a lot of it about. Happened to me yesterday lol I hadn't used it in so long and forgot to load it up.
Oh! I have a hard time figuring out what I have. They used to tell you when you put more money on it how much you had in there. Now it doesn't. I go until I bounce. You can pay.001 and ask but I have never gotten a reply. LOL

I found your post on your account. For some reason, the post did not come out with other posts under the tag. I like these parks. they make cities more comfortable. Your parks are special, it is very interesting that they have such a heavy weight in the eyes of the public. judging by the photos, the weather is already pleasant for you - not very cold and damp
Oops I found out why it did not show for you now how silly is htis I created the tang and forgot to use it in my own post lOL
That was a pleasant day we had and was nice out not so much now I must admit, we got 8 Inches of snow and below freezing temps at the moment
Oooooh! snow is not very nice in spring
Hopefully that was the end of winter and spring will make an appearance soon
A wonderful walk! I'm still thinking about mine... It's another one of those days when I am stuck indoors because of the weather. Hurry spring!
Remember the walk can be any day you like, dont go out in the cold if you dont have to :)

I did like that shot of of the low sprawled out branched tree, looks like when leafed out it will be a nice sit on the curb shade spot. I guess winter snows are pretty much done for New York, looking like, (fingers crossed), that our snows may be done, got just a little below freezing last night and on our drive today a solid 35 F and lots of puddles on the road.
the forecast for next week is looking so much better for sure, tomorrow when I catch the train it will be 16, brrr not looking forward to that

Howdy sir JJ! It IS amazing the number of little parks all over the place, that surprises me, I thought it was just buildings and then you had Central Park but I'm glad it's better than that. Gives you lots of places to go if you want a more natural setting on lunch time.
