Boo Yeo city was a last Capital of Baek Jae dynasty (B.C 18 - AD 660) in Korean Peninsular. I have traveled several times in these area. There are plenty of stories which you would like to hear. There were so much sad stories in Boo Yeo city when Baek Jae dynasty was destroyed by Shilla(korea)-Tang(china) combined forces. Let me post the history of Boo Yeo city next time.
I arrived at Boo Yeo city at noon.
It was little bit hot.
The reason why I visited Boo Yeo was looking around Garlic market place.
As you know, Garlic is essential in Korean Cuisine.
Koreans love Garlic.
You could see Garlic in every restaurant.
Especially when cooking the meat, Garlic is inevitable.
Even they will serve you raw Garlic in restaurant when you order the meat.
Love for Garlic of Korean is never fewer than that of Italians or Mexicans.
Anyway there were Garlics in the market place.
I heard that the scale of the marketplace was getting smaller day by day. They told me that it was much more bigger in several years ago.
There were no young people in the marketplace. When these old people quit this job, who would do this work ?
How long can I see this marketplace ?
One oldwoman was cleaning her place.
It seemed she sold out some Garlic.
There was dried red pepper.
Red pepper is as important as Garlic.
Red pepper and Garlic are going always together.
In Korean old myth, a bear and a tiger wanted to become Human. So they prayed to the Heaven God. The Heaven God told them if they ate only red pepper and garlic in the cave for 100 days, they became Human.
The tiger gave up in several days, but the bear fulfilled mission.
Finally, the bear became woman. This woman get married the son of the Heaven God. This was told as an origin of Korean.
It was lazy sunday noon.
Some people was napping.
It seemed that the napping in the marketplace was delicious.
Husband was napping, wife was working.
An old woman was napping, too.
She was selling fishes.
I bought 2 bunch of Garlic.
An old woman told me that the Garlic I bought was autumn Garlic and
Autumn Garlic was much more delicious than Spring Garlic.
I took a photo for her. There were deep wrinkles in her face.
The deep wrinkles seemed to tell me that her life was not so easy.
She must’ve overcame all difficulties in her life.
It seemed that she never kneed down to her destiny.
She looks virtuous.
After buying the Garlic, I went to the restaurant where my colleague recomended.
Really Amazing Stuff and Beautifully Presented...

It looks like you include people who love garlic as well. Seen from your journey it to explain how important garlic in korea country.
Indeed I see in most Korean food using garlic, and some even menghidangnya with raw garlic to eat like meat. The journey is worthwhile, with the existence of this article you, korea people will know more about the garlic market now.
Thank you for sharing the story for today, this story is very useful for others, including me. I know now the nipple market of nipple in your country, although I am not a korean person.

Garlic is good on anything (salty)!
I love garlic. I don't think I have ever tried Korean dishes but I bet I would love them. The garlic Toum in Middle Eastern cuisine is my absolute favorite. Spicy + Garlicky is thee best, so that red pepper/garlic combo is awesome!
😅
Sure this is not in Greece? :) I love garlic ;) Yummy in my tummy!

마늘 사시려고 부여에 들르셨군요.
저도 언제 한번 마늘사러 가봐야겠군요
좋은 글 감사합니다.
네 좋습니다
You have a Wonderful Market there. Farmers Markets ( as we call them here ) are the Best. I am always uneasy when i see living animals people intend to eat. I'm sorry, I want to free them and fight off their captures as the creature make their get away. I know it's stupid but i can't help putting myself in that cage ( in my mind ) and feeling how they must feel.
Don't get me wrong, I love you post and these markets are generally wonderful.
I even don't like to see the lobsters in the tank at the grocery store.
I am a veteran and to me Freedom is so important to life.
But I like to eat too, so therein lies one of my personal biggest internal battles,
not loving my food too much that I wouldn't eat it.
By the way, Garlic is fantastic for cleansing the body, and I've never see so much,
so Thanks for the post... I Love to see foreign Farmers Markets and only Wish I were there.
Wow will also visit Boo Yeo city to get me some of them Galic!!! this explains why they are healthier than others.
Keep eating Galic buddies, its good for heath. Thanks for sharing
it is funny how many countries use garlic it is the world secret ingredient -- great post -i had fried rice and miso soup tonight
@slowwalker
I am a little late for my reply. Sorry
I was getting ready to leave. I can see you have already made your trip and visit to Boo Yeo city. We have places we go to and never tire of each return trip.
Too many things of interest to become bored.
The Korean story of the woman is a little out there to me. Ha
Sort of like the birth of the Jew's Messiah, celebrated on the 25th of December. Somehow being turned into Santa Clause.
Now, that is a magic trick. lol
Thank you for showing us your trip and purchase. It is always interesting to us what you post. And your numbers show that to be true.

Keeping the vampires out of the city
Garlic is a mandatory supplement of meals in my kitchen! Wonderful post, I like this market place :)
This can be a good place for me. I'm a big fan of garlic!
In my country, garlic is very respectful! It is thought that he drives away evil spirits! Thank you @slowwalker ! I appreciate your support!
남편은 자고 부인은 일하고 재미 있습니다. 마늘 빠질수 없는 한국인의 음식재료 맞습니다. 잘 읽었습니다
I want to have some of those dried peppers. I love my foods spicy and hot. There's an abundance of garlic right there. Great market to buy fish heads, clams and oh those small octopus..I love seafoods, nice post sir :)

That is an amazing picture, compliments for taking the shot :) It would be nice if you could check out my latest photography experiment and tell me your opinion about it. Here you go https://steemit.com/bwphotocontest/@tommy93/b-and-w-animal-photo-contest-second-entry Thanks in advance 😃
Wow! Garlic! One of my favorites. :)
you can use garlic in just about everything. And it has very good medicinal benefits. Everytime i go a korean restaurant here, i always see garlic in their dishes. And also that red pepper. They are indeed a staple to their dishes. That's why they are so delicious. Lovely post at always! :)
another delightful photo essay, @slowwalker.
As you travel about I can see the cultural changes around you. It must be hard to see old ways dying out, like the garlic market now being run only by old people.
I loved the wealth of pictures in this post - the heaps of garlic and peppers, the face of the virtuous old woman.
The story of the bear eating garlic and transforming into a woman was touching.
I notice that most of your posts are celebrations involving visiting a restaurant or sharing a meal. You take the reader along and show the beauties of Korean cuisine and the cutural and religious significance attached even to simple spices.
An insightful post, @slowwalker!
A brise of garlic a day keeps vampires away!!
so thats where we have garlic in our shops from....
