Dance Weekend wants your local Moves - how can you be rewarded?
Hiya Steemians - As promised I am handling one contest or bounty post per week around one (or even more) the below music tags. Last week it was Techno Friday - this week Dance Weekend is the topic. Last week over 40 Steemians got rewarded by the Bounty Post. So get into Dance Mood and engage - the bounty is about to get started. As outlined already there could be more of such posts depending on the engagement we see. So the more engagement, the more contests or higher bounties.

German Dance Style here
Tough to start this living in Germany, we are not extremely famous for our body movement capabilities as such but Germany has some local dance styles - I am showing you the Schuhplattler. The first one here is the extended the version, the so called "Schuhplattler Holzhacker Tanz".
This is a typical German dance - mainly performed in Bavaria (but also in Austria to be honest and fair). The locals usually wear traditional Bavarian costumes. The dance was originally used to woe women into marrying a man. While the dance men are clapping their hands and are slapping their thighs while jumping up and down with the rhythm of the music. Looks funny for people from abroad, even for Germans not living in Bavaria. The dance is still or again popular especially amongst youngsters, who love its colorful costumes and its bouncing, leaping, kicking and choreographed horseplay.

I live in the Netherlands and I would like share the Dutch traditional dance. The video has all the details about the dance + the dance itself, so I would not write much. However, I would like to mention that Dutch wear special type of shoes during their traditional dance, which you can see in the video. Have fun :)
Originally I am from Pakistan, and I want to share one of the folk dances called Balochi dance. Pakistan has several different folk dances because of several different cultures. Enjoy
Beautiful colorful dresses. I have watched another Pakistani dance called Khatak dance. That also one of the traditional dances of the Northern areas of Pakistan.
Greatly interesting post! Gave great information about different cultural dances. I am sharing the American folk dance.
That's interesting, especially their dress and shoes. Dancing with style :)
Folk dance of Croatia
I wish this was done in the USA as well. It would be far more interesting to see the proposals and dance moves. LOL :)
THIS IS ESTONIAN
The most popular dance in Africa {Azonto}
Over the past year, a new dance craze has popped onto the Ghanaian music scene and has been making waves across West Africa and beyond.
It is called "Azonto" and calls for dancers to sort of act out their occupation. It has spread out of Ghana and has become a rage in Ghanaian communities in the US and Britain.
This dance has gone viral and has been trending for years now, it’s very smooth in dancing, very relaxing and exercising, very exciting and fun filled
If you haven’t heard of it yet, I’m sure your Africans friends have. Pronounced, “ah, zone, toe”, kind of rhyming with “I don’t know” , Azonto is on its way to becoming one of the most popular dances world wide.
Originated in Ghana, Azonto is an expressive dance, where you can basically do what ever you want while moving to the rhythm. Some popular moves include mimicking the following activities: washing your clothes by hand, calling out a girl you find attractive, making a phone call, and boxing. Sounds humorous, but so does “the moon walk”, and that seemed to impress people.
Azonto has blown up on youtube. From tutorials, to skits, to music videos, to battles, to Azontoing in public across the globe, Azonto is penetrating the international dance market rapidly.

In my country, the "Joropo" is a traditional form of music and dance that completely identifies the Venezuelan. The Joropo is currently an emblematic symbol of Venezuelan national identity, its music is accompanied by "arpa, cuatro and maracas", musical instruments that can appreciate the background of the dancers.
that is pretty cool.
Fantastic use of the bounty. I added a little to it. I am excited to see all different kind of dances!
Thanks so much my friend - you rock!!!
greetings to all!
i am from argentina and i wanted to share with the community just a little part of our culture that is tango. Tango is one of our most famous dances and the music has also beautiful lyrics too.
Tango is a sexy, passionate and elegant dance, that we as argentinians are very proud of.
I share a video of one of the best couple of dancers that is out there, and the music track by pugliese is exquisite and really emotional.
Enjoy steemians, cheers from Cordoba, Argentina.
One summer I showed my wife the American West and we met Yutes, Navajos, Hopis, and Apaches. I would always tells them I am their tribes' favorite kind of American, one who went back to Europe ;-)
Anyway, forget rock, disco, house, rap -- this is real American dancing.
When it comes to Nigeria songs, something you cannot take away from them are the unique dances steps that come with various beats and sounds.
Shaku Shaku dance is the latest step trend in the Nigerian music industry. And it seems people can just get over it. It has become a growing trend and for now, there is no sign that it will die down anytime soon
The dance starts with you standing with your legs astride. Then stretch your arm forward slightly crossed over each other. Then try to make a false or unfinished leg over movement to the right and then to the left. Your upper body will move slightly in sync in either direction of your legwork. Repeat the leg over movement at least three times on both legs. Then you will make a hand movement like you are pulling the cord of a generator. You can try various head movement while doing the leg over movement in sync. Finally, you do a quick squat once or two times successively while you pull out your legs as you rise up. Then you repeat the routine all over again![tenor (1).gif](https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmS9ufCg4rrjXN8p4wksEb6PjrzHLiLG6kr1rURGwVmjKw/tenor%20(1).gif)
Hello! I hope you find yourself well, I like this that you do because we can get to know each other more and a bit of the real culture. more than what the books say. Well .. in my country the typical dance is the joropo, it is the most traditional thing there is, and it is seen more than anything in the towns ... here I link you a video ...
But we as a Caribbean country, we also have another dance, and every time you have the opportunity to go to the beaches somewhere in it there is always a group playing drum and it is wonderful to see how everyone joins to enjoy, some dance others observe. But it is a unique experience full of the best vibes always enjoying !! Here I leave you so you can see what I'm talking about! (this also happens at any time of a party, when they put the drum the thing turns on)
Lol, grateful for allowing me to share part of our culture.
Thank you, for the idea, I will make a publication about it hehe with the #DanceWeekend
The Caporales is a traditional Andean dance originated in La Paz, Bolivia.[1] Caporales were recreated and presented to the public for the first time in 1969 by the Estrada Pacheco brothers, who were inspired in the character of the 'Caporal' this is the overseer of the black slaves and was usually mixed race, wore boots and held a whip, a dance that belongs to the region of the Yungas, Bolivia[2] The dance, however, has a prominent religious aspect. One supposedly dances for The Virgin of Socavón (patroness of miners), and promises to dance for three years of one's life. Caporal or caporales today is a folklore dance very popularly in the festivities of not only Bolivia, but also Argentina, Chile, Perú, Spain and the United States.
If you look closely, one can see me within the thumbnail.
This is a typical bailie on the coasts of Venezuela, in fact as well as the time is that it is danced. only many people meet and with the sound of the drums a circle of people is made and they just start dancing
This is a street dance apparently spontaneously performed in Trieste, Italy... perhaps, musician and dancer are foreigners, but I love to think that music, dance, and art are universal: isn't it? ;)
I liked it very much and the way they are all presenting the steps it is indeed great I really liked it .
While I wanted to get in the boat and while this one of the traditional folk song and the dance of my country BANGLADESH.
This is popular in Estonia
Järtsu guyde official tants
Cool idea!
I live in Austria and I think the Waltz (back in the 18th century) was the last real dance out of Austria that became "world popular". I live in Vienna and there is a lot of classic music events here like operas, theaters and ball dances,... but that is not my scenery at all.
Here in Vienna we got a quite big nightlife scene with all sorts of dances (of course depending on the music playing). I love the diversity here there is literally something for everyone in this city.
For me personally: the drunker I get the better I dance (at least that's the impression I get 😂)
Will be fun to follow this and see other cultures dances.
Again great idea!
In Germany we have more than the Schuplattler!
Especially In west /southwest Germany we have a big Carnival tradition and there are many groups practicing the "Gardetanz". This reminds a little bit on cheerleading in the USA. Look here:
Jamaica Man, No Problem :)
Enjoy Y'all!
"El Galeron" are typical musical representations of the Venezuelan east, in Nueva Esparta state they are the most autochthonous musical representations of the area.
The gallery is slow music, its accompaniment is performed by "cuatro" (similar to a guitar), guitar and bandolín,
It is presumed of Spanish origin, and the same form of song is extended by all the Caribbean coast.
Look for a video to show you what it was about, and there are several. But the one I liked the most was the one of these children at a school event here in Venezuela.
Greetings.
I spent a lot of time clubbing in the mid to late 90s and this song kind of reminds me of those days. I've been really into Lady Leshurr for a while now as an artist. She is out of the UK.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6m7ur5jeqeY
Thanks for this - are you from the UK too?
No, I'm from the US. Unfortunately I misread the instructions for entering a comment..
no worries :-)
Cool thanks! :) I did not want to seem like I was trying to spam the post or anything like that.
no worries :-)
war mein Tanzen eher Back and Forth. Hier schön gezeigt.
Hi @uwelang :) ... In the venezuela culture there are several types of traditional dances that are very picturesque and interesting.
The most representative in my beloved Venezuelan land is the Joropo, but there is another such as:
The Sebucan
The Burriquita
Caliphate of El Callao
Mare Mare
The Iguana
The Chimichimitos
The bagpipes
Calipso of El Callao
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=9&v=C04bA2KCHUI
this dance is also famous in estonia
I really give my eyes the great sight it deserves, beautiful picture with awesome stepping. Plus the video which is so cool. I have never seen such stepping in my life plus the melodious music backing it 👆 @thegerman video shown. Can I post videos which is already existing that showcase our dancing's stepping
Sounds like a plan - give us your showcase with a little explanation ideally.
Bangladeshi folk dance ..

russian dance:
Excellent, in my country Venezuela the traditional dance is the joropo, to practice this dance you must wear light shoes because it is a heeled dance, it is like the urban version of flamenco.
