Take me to the Beach!
This theme was proposed by @maverickinvictus in the Deranged Photography Contest discord channel.
It is summer time and that means that it is time to go to the beach. I am not able to go to the beach right now, but I am hoping to get some ideas of where to visit for my next vacation through your awesome pictures. The pictures I am posting are from my visit to the Crescent City, California. It was super foggy and a little bit cold there when we visited, but guess that is somewhat normal for that area.
So make sure you have your cameras with you if you are on vacation or go through your recent vacation photos and post your photos from the beach. I am looking forward to seeing all the cool places that everyone has been.
NOTE - We have had a lot of newcomers to the contest recently and some have not been reading the rules in their entirety. Only ONE submission per contest is allowed. Please do not enter more than once. If you see other people doing it, feel free to comment to them and inform them of the rules.

How is the Deranged Photography Contest set up?
The contest will be broken up into three different tiers. Each will have a different payout for the winners based on what tier you enter into. Here is a breakdown of the winning based on the tiers:

Each contest will be open for submissions for 5 days after the post is made and then closes at 0100 UTC (1800 MST) on the 5th day.
This will give me and any guest judges time to judge the submissions and create the post announcing the winners.
How to enter
When you enter a photo in the competition, you will state what tier you want to be judged in and locked in for the month at that level.
For example if you enter a photo, you drop the photo in the comment section, state what level of photographer you are, and then give a description of the photograph.
If you want to make your own post and reference the contest in your post, that would be awesome, just remember to post your picture in the comment section along with your post link. Who knows, you may get a visit and an upvote on your post as well as an upvote on the picture. Use the tag #derangedphotography to make it easy to find your posts.
NEW FOR MAY!!
There will be a prize pool of 5 SBD for each tier for the photo of the month. At after the final contest results are posted, I will create an additional post for everyone to cast their votes for their top photo of the month.
Each 1st place winner throughout the month will be tagged in the post as notification to drop their photo in comment section and the photo from each tier that receives the highest number of votes, number not value, will win the 5 SBD, plus they get all the rewards of the upvotes on their comment too, so win win for them.
I am hoping that this is incentive for everyone to continue to go out and shoot amazing photographs. You are all doing great.
Additional Notes
This contest is in its early stages and as time goes it things may need to be tweaked to benefit the group as a whole to make it a more fun experience for everyone.
Contestants can only win 1st or 2nd place once a week.
Only one submission per contest. Extra submissions will be ignored.
You can switch your tier ONE time per month, but only if you are moving up into a higher tier, for example if you are currently in the amateur tier, but you think that you have a photograph that you want to enter in the professional tier, you can state that you are changing your tier to professional. You will then be locked into the new tier for the remainder of the month. You are not able to move down to a lower tier, like going from amateur to the beginner tier.
If you do not state wish tier you want to be judged in for the month, I will leave a comment to remind you to do so, but if you don't respond, you will be assigned to a tier and locked in for that month.
Plagiarism will not be tolerated in any form. All submissions must be your own work. I will investigate every entry and one of the main sponsors is the @steemcleaners team, so if you are caught plagiarizing, not only will you be blacklisted from competing from any future contests, but you will be reported to Steemcleaners as well. It is not worth it to try and cheat, especially with the 3 tier set up where everyone has an equal shot of winning.

I took this photo in Punta Sur Eco Beach Park. It is the largest ecological reserve in Cozumel. This place is paradise of exotic birds and wild flora:)
Here's my entry. It's shot at Cayo Jutías - a mangrove-covered key situated in western Cuba.
Mangroves serve a crucial role in environment and biodiversity. But sadly, they have been deteriorating fast. The dead branches you see in my photo here is a common sight in many coast areas in the country, due to reasons such as the construction of reservoirs, deforestation, soil sealing, industrial pollution, shrimp farming, etc..

Truly amazing! I am very glad in driftwood, and often scout for it, never seen one this awsome, or maybe it's just your photographing skills that makes it look great? 👏👏👏
Well just another cell phone picture but I think the light was just right on it. There are tons of massive pieces of driftwood like this in the pacific northwest. After every storm, you can see giant tree sections scattering the beaches then they get sunbleached and weathered the longer they sit there. Artists take some of them and turn them into some cool sculpture and functional pieces.

Hahh here's our try with friends to recreate the famous picture of American soldiers raising the flag at Mount Suribachi :D I know you're a veteran sooo not sure if you don't find it somehow offensive...hopefully not
Picture was taken in Sardinia, where we've spent 4 days squatting in some old destroyed never-finished building :D We've just flew there and lived on the beach for 4 days :D Here the pics where we've slept, just to finish the story as I have the folder open:

Haha diky..prezradim ale teraz jedno tajomstvo. Tie fotos vbc niesu podla mna tak dobre, podla mna ich len predavam tymi pribehmi, ktore k tomu napisem :D fotos sami o sebe su uplne obycajne.

This beautiful beach is on the island Coiba in Panama. It is part of the Coiba National Park and was declared an UNESCO World Heritage in 2005. It is famous for its high marine and terrestrial biodiversity.
Surfing on Bali is not just a sport or a hobby, it´s a lifestyle. On the Weekends it gets really crowded, because all the locals coming to the beach as well, go surfing, playing soccer or just relax in the sun.

Ah with all the rain that we have been getting I so want to go back to the beach and just soak up the sun and be surrounded by beatiful women in bikinis.

Pro - Paradise does exist! We found it last year on the island of Bintan in Indonesia. It was the most amazing place and when we went to this beach we just stood in awe for a while, it looked like a screensaver! It was just that beautiful!

Amateur Tier - This is a landscape shot of Jupiter Beach, FL from a previous vacation trip. The water was crystal clear and one of the best snorkeling trips I've ever been on. Just near there is Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach, FL another top-notch diving/snorkeling spot!
I haven't been snorkeling since I lived in Japan. I can't wait to go again. This looks like a great spot for that. Awesome shot!

This is the city of Barranquilla (Colombia) seen from the beaches of Bocas de Ceniza.

This photo is from last year's trip to Ocean City, NJ with the fam. I got up early one morning (before 0500) to enjoy the sunrise and get in a calm beach ruck. The sunrise was beautiful, I only saw about 4 other people, and the ruck got the blood moving!

Arcadia Beach along the 101, in Oregon, just south of Cannon Beach. A recent day trip for us from Astoria. There are tide pools to explore at low tide, cliffs you can hike around or picnic by. My son loves to fish and casts his line in for surf perch or crab (which you can catch on a pole). Also, if there's a clam tide than you can try your luck at digging razors, they're the Cadillac of clams!
We also love boogie boarding and you don't notice the cold at all in a wetsuit which you can rent in Seaside.
Of course our beaches are colder than other locations, but nothing beats the Oregon coast for natural beauty and beaches are all public :)
And, Cannon Beach, Astoria and Seaside are all a close drive with many family friendly events and places to discover. Astoria has a fantastic Sunday market which includes many artisans, food vendors, produce and flowers :)

Yet another great theme! :) Maybe it is just me but I love watching crabs and other little creatures when on beach so here is one of my favorite beach shots:
Normally, these guys run away when you get too close to them but this one was unusually brave :)

With the “Having fun” theme I had a hard time finding a picture because I just had very few shots of happy people. With the “Take me to the Beach” I had a hard time for the opposite reason, I have too many shots of beaches :)
I have taken pictures of hundreds, maybe more than a thousand, beaches all over Greece, most of them with calm clear waters and usually on a sunny gorgeous day.
And yet the first shot that came to my mind for this contest was this one, shot on a gloomy, windy day!

This small beach is one of many hidden gems in Southwest Portugal, in Alentejo region; for me, the best beaches in the country are there!
