My son does love that stuff. I need to look into what other products contain palm oil and cut our consumption.

A lot of prefabricated food contains palm oil, primarily because it is cheap, partly because it doesn't melt, has a special consistency (the one you know from Nutella) and do not easily get rancid. Prefabricated bread, pizza and cookies are filled with it.
I make almost all my food from raw materials, and bake my own bread so there is not much palm oil in my house. But my wife's shampoo maybe, and the Nutella!
I ought to make more bread. My neighbour is a miller and he gave us some sacks of flour that we need to use up.
As soon as you get into the routine it is not that bothersome really and you get a lot of quality for no money. Time is the key. Use only a little yeast, and let it rest for a long time in the fridge or another cold place before baking.
When I was ill last year and couldn't do a thing my girls had to eat supermarket bread. They were complaining a lot.
I have a bread making machine, so it's pretty easy to just throw in the ingredients. My daughter likes making bread too. It is about getting into the habit
Sure. The economy of me and my wife has been based on low income, low expenses, but more time. It can be hard to throw in time consuming things in a modern lifestyle.
