Have you noticed any difference in your ankles and feet? I have never been much of a runner, but my feet and calves are in terrible condition for even walking fast.

Yep! Through standing on them, going up to the toes and holding there, one foot at a time. The toe separators and balance boards have helped but just using them in the day 'at work' with the adjustable desk up as high as it will go has helped the most i think. I've got these sponge blocks which have been my portable steps - calf raises will sort you out but go slow!
My calves are like rocks - they are far too tight but no amount of stretching or massage seems to do anything.
I should raise my desk more often. I tend to only do it for meetings and deliveries, but since I haven't had that many over the last few months, I have got lax.
Like rocks and sore, or just like rocks? :D
Toe separators
A 'roller'
Mat
Blocks
A few stances to hold
Balance board
These items have improved my lower body strength a lot and the stairs are much more comfortable than they were a year ago.
