The worlds Healthiest French Fries from Healthy Recipe.

in #food8 years ago (edited)

Who does not love French Fries right? I mean French Fries, Pizza and Cheese Burgers are probably 3 of the most popular foods in the US. Unfortunately they come with some heavy baggage when it comes to health. To begin with most french fries you order in restaurants or in fast food places are loaded with Hydrogenated or Soybean Oil. Both are highly inflammatory and destroy our cardiac health.
I will be honest every once in a while I had to treat myself to some fries at home or in a pinch run by Mcdonalds once a year. I had tried making them in the oven and even though they would turn out pretty tasty, they never compared. Until I decided to get myself one of these nifty little new Gadgets they call an Airfryer.

This is what my first batch of Airfryed french fries turned out like with no prior experience cooking in an airfryer.

I used red Potatoes and cut them pretty thin about this size.

In Case you want to know what an air fryer is or looks like, it has a dial for time and temp on top like this:

The one I got was the Big Boss Air Fryer and it has a glass bowl where u can see your food cooking.

I have also included the video on how I made these and a tasting on the end where you can even hear the crunch.

I hope you guys enjoy this Video and it helps you to reduce the fat and calories in your diet while still being able to eat delicious fries with out the guilt from time to time. they do look pretty healthy!!! yum!!

I swear I need that Air Fryer company to start sponsoring me as much as I rave about their little gadget. I love the fact that you can see the food cooking too.

I have a couple youtube friends that have an air fryer. It is amazing what you can make in those machines. Just amazing. Going to watch your vid. TFS.

Thanks Tess, it is a really cool machine. It also is great for me since we do all of our filming in a studio kitchen in the back of our supplement store, so it serves the purpose of an oven also. Although it seems that for some things the air is a bit too dry and they do not turn out the same. I have tried a few times to make bread in it and it has not risen like in an oven.

if you don't use organic potatoes then this recipe is no good, also watch out for Canola oil! Potatoes hold more pesticide then just about any vegetable out there. Even the farmers will not touch their own crop!

Fortunately there is only a handful of vegetables that I will eat non organic. You are right about the Potatoes, it is actually Nitrogen they bomb it with the most which is a proven carcinogen and causes vegetables to grow like crazy. One of my friends is a Potato farmer in North Dakota and he wont eat Potatoes. The only oils I normally use are Avocado, olive oil(raw only) and organic extra virgin, and coconut oil. Occasionally I will use Peanut oil if doing something stir fried and out of coconut oil.

Healthy french fries..... I like the sound of that.
