Louise was walking happily while whistling at the departmental store, scanning the items one by one. She was looking for some cutleries and floor mat for the her new church office. Then from one direction...
"No, don't come near me.... Argh! Argh!"
Louise turned around calmly and tried to search for the location of the sound. Within few seconds, she spotted a youngster in his 20s, holding a knife dripping with blood. The next thing caught Louise' eyes was blood-filled neck. The young man had just slitted his throat with the unpaid knife.
When more and more people tried to come near him, he got panicky and threw away the knife and started running, with his blood dripping on the floor. Without hesitation, Louise grabbed a set of washcloths nearby her and ran after him.
He got cornered at the lift and managed to say out few words. Everyone could tell he was fearful.
"I just want to die. I lost my job. And now I have nothing. I am good for nothing."
"Try to calm down, the more you talk, the more blood from your throat," Louise told her with a very calm tone, still chilling. Somehow, in times of emergency such as this, usually Louise would not be affected at all. Courageous was the word people defined her.
I would say it is the glorious presence of God.
"Sit down, sit down...and lie your head on my thigh..," she told the guy while sitting down on the floor of the mall. Then she signalled one of the cashiers to call ambulance.
The guy, becoming weaker now, knelt down and slowly lied down on her while with her help. He was heard mumbling and muttering words only he could understand. But he was shivering too and tears rolling down his cheek.
"it is going to be fine, young man. You have years to explore new opportunities. It is not done yet. Your time is not up. You will have enough alright," she talked to him to keep him awake as his eyes were closing, at the same time, stopping the blood with the washcloths.
Ambulance arrived on time as he was still alive at that moment.
Louise stood up, walked back to the departmental store, picked up her cutleries and floor mat, strolled to the cashier and paid everything, including the washcloths filled with blood. Her countenance as cool as chill breeze, as calm as tame sea, as though nothing had ever happened.
