Books have been a huge part of my life. They've changed my life. I'll never forget the first novel I read (voluntarily), The Hobbit. I was in middle school. I love books, any subject. I'm not kidding. I'm staring at a book about real estate that's on my shelf right now. Where the heck did that come from?
Fiction or non, I've read my share of both. I love biographies, organized crime, and anything paranormal. And I can't seem to keep my bookshelf clear. No matter how many books I give away it doesn't seem to make a dent. Where do they all come from?
The longest book I've ever read is just under 2100 pages long. I made a point to read at least 10 pages a day so it wasn't as intimidating. I forget how long it took. It might be time to read it a second time. What's the longest book you've read?
Luckily there's still a bookstore near me, their numbers are dwindling though. I'll enjoy it as long as it's there.
Thanks to @mariannewest for this challenge!

George RR Martin, The whole series
Diana Gabaldon, ALl her books
Stephen King The original "The Stand" and most of his other books
To me the longer the better. I hate when the book ends and you have to say goodbye to all your new friends.
Ah, you mentioned Stephen King, that reminded me of It. That's a long one, too. And one of my favorites of his.
That happens to my bookshelves as well!!! Not to my little free library I have out front. There - books disappear. But I am okay with it -as long as someone reads them....

Maybe you have book ninjas. They sneak quietly into your home and leave random things to read.
No way! My cat would surely stop any intruders no matter how deep in the Himalayas they trained.
I've read some very long books, but I have never paid much attention to the amount of pages. I don't remember numbers anyway! LOL!
This made me laugh. Thanks.
it's true! I simply forget numbers -numbers anything. It's not that I can't do math - I took a college calculus class when I was in my thirties - just to prove I could do it. LOL! So I have no idea why I forget numbers! I just do!
Oh, wow. My apologies. That is interesting though. 😁
Haha. No apologies needed. your reply made ME laugh! :-)
Great post
Thank you.
Your entry is fair and I appreciate it. Way better than some stuff I read here. A honest declaration of love for books :-) I don't know, odds are that I write pretentious bullshit myself without even realising it.
My longest book was the black tower of King, or the Chronicles of Fire and Ice of Martin. Now I?m reading Infinite Jest of Wallace, a true revelation. My first one was the Neverending Story..a masterpiece :-)
Yes, Martin writes long books. Oh, the Neverending Story is a great one indeed.

I love long books! Maybe The Count of Monte Cristo? Kirstin Lavensdatter? War and Peace? I think they are all about 1200 wonderful pages!
