I have some dried papaya seeds that I need to get in the ground. Are they easy to germinate?

I imagine they must be. I have 5 or 6 trees that popped up from my compost heap. Mind you, there must have been dozens of seeds there in the first place!

Ok I have around 20 ish seeds. I'll give them a try in some post-mix soil.

I see you are in California, so i think they should grow well for you. I just popped out and took this shot with my iPhone. A few are on the ground, but I hope these will grow to maturity! IMG_2379.jpg

That is a beautiful papaya tree. I would love the fruit and shade from a beauty like that!

We'll see if they ripen and if i can pick them before the birds get at them. They love to eat my figs!

Birds can be a challenge ... hang foil in the trees (or other shiny things) to discourage all but the crows.

Not sure what to do if you get fig beetles though.
