Today hope wears pink
Cordial greetings to all those who are meeting today to participate in the Pront In Leo, International Day of the fight against breast cancer and especially to the members of the Emotions & Feelings Community. As a physician, raising awareness about the benefits of integral health is always a diligent practice, without established schedules, without defined conditions, without space requirements, and in any circumstance that generates the possibility, because the promotion of health and healthy lifestyles has no time or date in the agenda.
In health everything has value, however, October is for me, an exceptional month, it is my Pink month, the month where we integrate as a family women and men, with humility in the solidarity of kindness and love, to provide all our efforts and raise the flags of awareness and sensitization, exalting the importance of the immature detection of breast cancer in both women and men. Only in this way, with early diagnosis and timely treatment, we will add years of life in quality, and antithesis, we will reduce the years of life lost that could be dissipated by suffering from this disease.
The statistics of the Venezuelan Anticancer Society (mi País), transpire uneasiness through their figures, due to the continuous decrease in the number of diagnoses in incipient stages. This, as a health team, causes us great concern, since it is indicative that breast cancer diagnoses are being made in more advanced stages of evolution and in direct proportion to more reserved prognoses.
Although the origins of this situation may be diverse in its multidimensionality, it is clear that the crisis in our country has contributed considerably to late diagnosis, by narrowing and restricting the opportunities for free access to diagnostic studies such as breast ultrasound and mammography, in our Public Health System.
Our hospitals and other public health care centers are in intensive care, there are many good intentions, but also great limitations. In this tribulation, only a few can afford their studies in private health centers, limiting considerably the population's accessibility to diagnostic sources.
But despite this bleak-looking landscape, What would a country be without the kindness of its people? It is in these moments of considerable adversity and misfortune, where ingenuity and resilience have emerged, to seek options and not give up, so we have formed networks of support and solidarity, for patients suffering from this disease, with exchanges and donations of supplies and medicines, collecting money through raffles and donations, solidarity days of diagnosis and care, sharing experiences through focus groups to strengthen emotional support, educational talks, walks, etc. with the conjunction without distinction of institutions and society, examples of transdisciplinarity.
Activities that we try and intend to carry out throughout the year, but in October and especially on the nineteenth we carry out our walk of hope, where the Rose family as a conscious and committed human ecosystem, meets very early in the morning at a meeting point, to then walk the main streets of our city, raising to our sky slogans of well-being, which reinforce that what we want can be possible and that we are not alone, because there will always be friendly hands to help us.
Our spokeswomen and living examples of overcoming the disease honor us with their presence, encouragement, and positive attitude. They share their experiences and how they overcame their fears, as well as the importance of knowing your body and its signs, raising awareness of the value of breast self-examination, without underestimating regular medical check-ups.
Friends, family members, health and institutional personnel, with intentionality we share and give off optimism, encouragement, and comfort for those who need us and suffer from this disease. October is a month that brings us the enhancement of the aromas and symphonies of human virtues, in which we are all called to defend welfare with coherence and conscience, giving special distinction to solidarity, and wearing pink hope.

Intersectoral collaborative efforts involving policy makers and as you stated, the business of the men also would further accentuate awareness through sensitization for earlier diagnosis and by extension, improve on the prognosis. Nigeria shares a similar attitude of late presentation and diagnosis which the fault could be attributed to a good number of factors. Thank you for sharing and giving insight
Hello @jjmusa2004, I thank you for joining the dissertation and socialization of a disease that every day that passes reports greater morbidity and mortality worldwide and in the case of my country, Venezuela, its presence is increasingly frequent in women at young ages.
The great critical knot in our case, is the meager political will and exacerbated resistance to articulation, which translates into considerable deficiencies in the health sector, coupled with the restricted purchasing power of the female population and / or male plaintiff, consequently curtailing the timely diagnosis and treatment with the consequences that this represents to the detriment of rehabilitation and recovery of health.
It has been the union of the population, private organizations and their commitment to cooperate with the health sector that has contributed some light on the way, however, it is necessary to recognize that we would do more if the State would assume its responsibility, contributing with what corresponds to it.
It is a multifactorial and multidimensional dilemma, in which emotions and feelings swarm in different directions, where as health personnel and as a population we are immersed, we do not falter , in the fight against breast cancer and other pathologies of interest in Collective Health.
Thank you for your valuable contribution, health and well-being !LUV

Though there is paucity of medics in your country, it would be a step in the right direction if there are a few noble colleagues venture into the political atmosphere with hope that they would bring a positive change to the health sector and by extension, diseases such as index that has begun to ravage or become more prevalent among the younger generation. My apologies for late response and it is always a pleasure to have a conversation / engagement with you. I wish you well and Goodspeed!
