Hello Everyone,
Before I get into the details of the topic, I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing. In almost two months, I haven't written anything. I was unable to publish anything because we still do not have internet service because of typhoon Odette. My brother @breakn3ck kindly offered me a place to stay in Cebu. Due to the typhoon Odette aftermath, most of the people felt unhappy or agitated due to the fact the they don't have water to drink, no electricity. As a result, I've decided to share my understanding of stress and how to deal with it based on my own personal experience.
Sleep disturbances, appetite, and weight gain are some of the symptoms of depression that can appear during adolescence. Despair, hopelessness, sadness, and a sense of worthlessness may develop. Social disengagement, difficulty concentrating or remembering, suicidal thoughts or behaviors, and medically unexplained symptoms are some of the other indicators. When mental-health professionals suspect depression, they look for a slew of symptoms that continue for weeks and interfere with a person's daily routine.
TEEN DEPRESSION'S POSSIBLE CAUSES
Depression is caused by a complex combination of social, psychological, and biological variables.
While a modest amount of stress can be useful, continuous or severe stress can be harmful to the body and mind, potentially leading to depression in a sensitive or biologically vulnerable teen.

Parental divorce or separation, the death of a loved one, physical or sexual abuse, a major accident, illness, or a learning disability—especially if a kid feels rejected as a result—are all stress-related variables connected to depression. Unreasonably high parental expectations, perhaps in terms of scholastic accomplishment, could be a contributing factor. Bullying, worry about the future, emotional estrangement by a sad parent, and parental unpredictability are all probable factors. What can a teen do if he or she develops depression? psychologically damaging, to the point of depressing a sensitive, or biologically vulnerable, adolescent.
ENSURE THAT YOUR MIND AND BODY ARE IN GOOD CONDITION
If you suffer from depression, take reasonable steps to care for your physical and emotional wellbeing. Consume nutritious foods, get enough sleep, and exercise on a regular basis, for example. Exercise releases molecules that can help you feel better, have more energy, and sleep better. If at all possible, try to pinpoint the causes and early warning signs of a depressive mood and design a treatment strategy. Place your trust in someone you can count on. A supportive network of close relatives and friends can assist you in better managing your depression and reducing symptoms.
Make an emotional "First-Aid Kit"
If you're depressed, putting together an emotional first-aid kit is a practical way to gain control over your thoughts and feelings. You can follow the information suggested below to help you control your thoughts.
People's phone numbers to call if you're feeling down
Favorite songs with a positive and uplifting message
Articles with motivational quotes and articles that will encourage you.
Memorabilia can serve as a constant reminder of those that care about you.
A diary where you can write down your good ideas as well as pleasant experiences you've had.

:) kumusta? I know thing were bad and still are in recovery in PH. I hope everything continues to improve..
I was diagnosed with manic/depression when I was 16, so have been through many ups and downs in my life. I found what helps me most is doing those things that I know I enjoy most, even if I don't feel like doing em with I am depressed. Things like watching a favorite movie, or listening to music I like, or maybe working out (u REALLY won't feel like doing it, but will feel much better after) and of course, hive! :) just say you'll just login and read a few posts, then before u know it u are posting one yourself and have done an hour of curation!
Thank you for sharing your experience and tips. I'm glad you've found something that can help you feel much better.
Hehehehe.
Depression can also come through unseen factors. Just like mine did. Unseen factors can come as a result of friends or overthinking. I don't know how to explain it. As a child growing up, they only know what they are taught. Berating them for something they don't know could be harmful. And it stays forever. Your article was very captivating...
Also Spiritually. When we feel like we're not connecting or doing more to please the God we know, guilt creeps in and so does depreciation.
Your post was really insightful
Thank you for sharing your experience. I also agree with you. Spiritually should also be included.

Glad you were able to see your brother and I'm sorry to hear that the internet connection is still a huge problem in your area. Glad you're here in Cebu with your brother. I know you are busy with your studies too, hoping you can balance your time.
Just to share with you, when I am stressed or even at work I always have this paper and a pen to write anything just to divert my sadness.
Good point on this and hoping that you are taking good care of your mental health.
This post is totally different from privious posts😀

I hope now you are well after a typhon, even place where it happened how is it now?
As of this moment, electricity is working fine already in our place but there are still some remote places in Philippines that doesn't have connection. Hopefully, electric companies will speed up their work.
I am happy of hearing that. God bless you.
Thank you.
Writing a diary is a good one and that's how I sometimes express my thoughts through writing. If no one is available at the moment, your pen and paper is your bestfriend. 😊🤗
I'm glad I came across this article. I never used to pay attention to how many people are fighting this silent menace, adults and children of all ages. Some have been going through it for so long that they learned how to hide it from friends and sometimes family. But, eventually the telltale signs show their faces, as in my case. I agree with @deraaa also. Growing up being belittled or even berated takes its toll and can cause teens to grow into adulthood, with little or no self esteem or self worth. I've learned to express myself in my writings and it brought me to realize, I have more things bottled up than expected. Reading your post has me thinking more. I just wish there were more out there to help stop depression from growing, especially in kids. Thank you for the amazing post. I hope things on your end began to get better.
I let mine out through songs. I thought i was past that stage and although insecurity is not avoided, the rate at which I hold onto it is really alarming. I would give anything to reach out to kids who may be going through "broken homes". Mine started from my father and it's painful because he was supposed to protect not destroy. I have a fear of commitment because of this and also the unnatural ability to run away from any form of conflict be it good or bad.
Some people don't even know that they are depressed. And when they do they believe no one cares. It's sad.
Thank you so much for the response. I fully understand what you mean about the protect, not do other things. It took a very long time for me to even trust another being. You can probably walk into a crowded room and over half will have some sort of anxiety or depression hidden under the surface. I like that you turn to music to help pull through some of it. I find relaxing music, but sometimes I will play something with loudness to it in an attempt to make the thoughts go away. It is sad that teens and adults alike think they are alone, so they hold it all in. I lost a teen niece a few years ago due to suicide. It broke everyone's heart because not one person knew what was wrong, or not that spoke up about knowing. May God help those who struggle with depression and show them they are not alone. I am grateful to have come across you and your post/comment and will follow.
I'm sorry for your loss. I have come close to doing same as well but was stopped when My cousin walked in on me. That's when my family knew the extent of my depression. I may not be totally free but I do know that i do want to help others out there who thing they are alone. Through music or anything else. I appreciate the follow and have followed back. I also appreciate that you took the time to reply. I'm grateful.
Thank you @pixiehunter. I hope this well also help you.
You're very welcome. It's good to see so much support, if people know how to seek it. I have my ups and downs for sure, as is the case now, but faith keeps me hanging on, and the ability to feel ok and not judged by talking about certain things.
