Do you prefer to delegate, or curate yourself?
I am thinking would it be benefitial to me to delegate some of my HP to specific accounts for better returns 🤔

Some of that question depends on how much HP you have, and how much time you spend curating in person. It can be about finding a balance.
That is true, thank you! I only recently powered up to this threshold so I have been enjoying the manual curation and my votes having some weight/meaning behind them. But in the same turn if I can increase my current curation return through delegation, it is kind of appealing
You can do both, and you can change your mind at any time -- just understand, though, that when your delegate, you are spreading your vote strength out. I build my delegation stacks by deciding a level I want to vote at manually, and then delegating HP I receive after that.
So, say for example: you have 1,000 HP that you are voting manually with, and you are happy with that. Keep earning on Hive and look at the HP you have earned at the end of January. Delegate that HP out to a good project. Then, do the same thing at the end of February, and so on
If you want to accelerate having more HP to delegate, you can also set some of your posts to pay you entirely in HP so you get twice as much HP -- if I wanted to build a delegation stack fast, that's what I would do.
Thank you Deeann that's a wonderful insight and very inspirational too. I think I will definitely take a page out of your book going forward into 2025 and start tracking my curation earnings to delegate out at the start/end of each month!
Due to my stake being so low until the previous month or so I've never really thought about expanding out like that, but thank you again that's a wonderful way to go about things.
Have a wonderful day!

You're welcome -- glad to be of help
I mostly curate myself to control where my votes go. We can each decided on a path to take with Hive.
You most likely won't remember but you helped me out a lot here on Hive! When I made my first post you replied and pointed me in all the right directions- then going forward curated my content when not many others would. It definitely helped out more than you imagine.
There have been so many people, so it's hard to keep track. I'm happy you are still here.
So I believe you just gave me my answer 😁 I'm going to keep things how they are with my manual curation and engaging with the people behind the content.
Cheers Steve, have a wonderful evening!
If you want to delegate part of your HP, in this case to me, I can arrange with you the return you want.
We can test it to see if it’s to your liking. I can give you the HIVE weekly or monthly.
Daily, I think just automating this 😅
and thank you for the offer my friend! I will keep it in mind and try look into it further, I won't lie the curating/delegating side of Hive confuses me some. I need to do more reading into the subject I think 😅
Don't worry, a while ago I didn't have much idea about delegations either.
In any case, I hope you find what you are looking for to better understand the ideal way to make the most of your HP.
But luckily, you already know that organic curation gives you many benefits.
Thank you my friend! I definitely want to do better, I check https://hivestats.io/ and my pending curating rewards for the efficiency of my votes it is very interesting!
Would love to have better efficient voting but is that possible? or more so it's just "good timing"
This is a great tool and I even use it sometimes to post about my progress.
Well, regarding our increase in VP, everything will depend on HIVE in the market hahaha...
I hope I can accumulate as much as possible before HIVE hits $1 for example.
You and me both, whenever a spike happens it puts it into prespective to accumulate while we can before it's somewhat out of reach
True, and look at how it is now. We had talked about this before.
The expectation now is to see HIVE cross $0.50, it will be incredible but we will accumulate less quantity.
Do both.. you can earn a small fortune with Delegation to @ecency … best Passive income on the planet.
That's a great question, but even though I don't have that much HP at the moment, I can tell you that organic curation is a great way to increase your HP.
I'm fighting day by day to grow my life. I know that in the future, I will be able to multiply my earnings through curation.
I do enjoy the organic curation, my vote didn't have much power or weight behind it until the previous few months where I decided to finally power up all the HIVE I invested into years prior for way too high of a price😂
It's always good when we can surf the market waves well and take advantage of opportunities.
This helps a lot in increasing HP.
Indeed! the more HP we can stack the better, only downside is we all want to profit also 😂 I'd be kicking myself if I powered up all the liquid Hive I have left during a spike where I could capitalise and potenitally end up with more Hive than I started with
My friend, you are completely right about this. I have thought a few times about keeping a certain amount of HBD specifically for buying and selling HIVE so that I can increase my HIVE over time. Of course, part of it will have to be to make the trade, so... I'll see if it works.
You can do both.
Doing it yourself can get you 100% curation returns. That is when you curate on a daily basis and don't let your Voting Mana at 100%.
You can also delegate some of your stake. You don't have to do it only a for the returns.
You could also support some initiatives you believe in.
I've always curated manually and aim to keep my HP in the 90% some range, where It recharges overnight/within 12 hours. I'm happy with the manual curating it's no issues, just if I can increase my returns with delegation it's enticiing 😅
I guess you can get the best of both worlds.
I've never delegated other than to friends with low HP, so I'm unsure if returns are worth it or keep manually going how I have been.
Check it out Ecency and InLeo options. Both are great!
Thank you my friend!
