A few years ago, me, my wife and the kids left home to celebrate Christmas with my dad, who was already very sick the time. It was a three hour drive, and after about one hour, we got a call from my stepmom, to let us know that my dadโs condition got worse, and he had to got to the hospital. No visitors allowed, due to the risks for him. The kids got quite hungry already in the meantime, so we divided to grab a bite before turning around and heading back home. So we went to the nearest thing that was op (on Christmas Eve!), which happened to be a KFC. Walking in there, we were the only customers, and the people working there were utterly surprised to see any customers at all. We saw how puzzled they were, and explained briefly what happened.
They felt sorry for us, and decided to make it special! They treated us (and especially the kids) like royalties! And we had a great Christmas Eve after all, one that will be remembered for many more years!!
My dad died a few months later, but he did have a good laugh at our evening!
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, but I'm glad you had a good Christmas eve after all. Keep the good memories as a treasure, that will help you to go on.
Best wishes for you.
Thannn you very much! Appreciated!! ๐๐ !HOPE
It sounds like you had the entire KFC for your family :)

Happy Holidays!
Thanks! ๐
Happy Holidays to you too!
Definitely bringing in a tree and decorating it must be one of them and possibly for second eating a lot of great food while watching Christmas movies all day.
Decorating the tree is always a good memory from these holidays. It doesn't matter how old we are, it is always something special to do with the family.
That's a good memory, sounds like mine, especially that watching Christmas movies thing.
Happy Holidays!
Actually, I would simply say that the best Christmas moments are the ones when you sit together with your family, eat and drink and talk and laugh about everything. It sounds simple, but I really appreciate it now.
Being together in family is always the best part of these holidays.
It seems like something trivial, but those moments are really important, especially when the years go by and we remember them, indicating that somehow we miss those days.
Happy Holidays!
One of my favorite memories was when I was a student and we were supposed to have a class on December 26th right after Christmas day. My friends organized a party and hung out for a whole night. So, when we went to the class all together right after the party. The professor let us go home earlier, and later on the exam, he gave an extra score just because we didn't skip the class that day. But you should know that it was super hard to keep my eyes open and keep the focus on the lecture....
It was worth the sacrifice and responsibility of attending the class, for which they were rewarded. It is a good memory that conveys a good message.
Happy Holidays!
I remember Christmas 2.0 after December 25th, in January my grandparents would come in from out of state. They would bring a trunk-load of presents for the children and the parents. We got to open an entire second load of presents!
!BBH
I loved that 'Christmas 2.0' thing hahaha. Nice way to call it.
A dream of any kid and not only haha
Very nice memory, I can imagine the joy.
Happy Holidays!
Here's my entry for the Ecency Day 15 contest:
My favorite holiday memory from childhood is of Christmas Eve at my grandparents' house. I must have been around 8 or 9 years old.
Every year, my siblings and I would spend Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa's. We'd help decorate the tree, make holiday cookies, and listen to Grandma read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' by the fireplace.
But the highlight of the evening was always the midnight trip to the living room to see if Santa had arrived. Grandma would make hot chocolate, and we'd sit by the tree, sipping our drinks and admiring the presents.
One year, I remember being so excited that I couldn't sleep. I kept sneaking downstairs to see if Santa had come. Finally, around midnight, I crept downstairs and saw that the room was filled with presents! I couldn't believe it!
I ran upstairs and woke up my siblings, and we all rushed downstairs together. It was pure magic. We spent the rest of the night opening presents, playing games, and enjoying each other's company.
That's a holiday memory that I'll always treasure. Even though I'm grown now, I still feel that same sense of wonder and excitement during the holiday season.
wow such beautiful memories
Thank you
As you rightly say, they are moments of magic that will never be erased and that make us smile forever.
Happy Holidays!
Yay ๐
I think I have already answered something for Day 3 in this comment and it would be the same answer for this question this time as I was still a child (well, a teenager) when my nephews were born.
I would write again but I'm just gonna say that the best holiday memory I have from childhood is from when my nephews were born. In the comment linked above you'll read some details โบ๏ธ
Hope they get 2 gifts. One for their birthday and another one for Christmas)
It's been like that at least from me, but I know not everyone has the chances to give two gifts almost at the same time, and they know it too, so it hasn't been a problem at all.
I read that previous comment of yours and now you confirm it, it is a good memory full of love.
Happy Holidays!
Thank you very much ๐ Best wishes for you too.
I have a lot of favorite childhood memories for holidays, but for the sake of this, I would choose one.
I can't remember exactly how old I was then, maybe around six years old; my dad took my siblings and me to an amusement park for the first time.
I and my siblings were so excited when we got there. There were a lot of rides, but since we were kids, the only ride my dad permitted us to ride was the bumper car. I had so much fun and was excited because I was also able to experience things I used to watch in the movies.
I remember how excited I was when we got back home, and I gisted my mom and aunt about the whole the that happened at the park
I know very well what you are saying because when I was a kid I enjoyed the bumper cars. That was a thrill that reach the moon because it was to be able to drive and make mischief crashing into others. What a great memory of yours.
Happy Holidays!
Yea, it was a great memory. Thank you for your input. Happy holidays ๐ค
I think here answer will be the same with one of the previous advent kalendar day when you asked about best Xmas memories in my case
It's the same for me ๐คญ
My favorite holiday memories are from me and my friends meeting up after we all had our traditional family dinners and we stayed outside sooo long and our parents didn't call us back because they were having a party of their own.
You're right, when parents are entertained, kids enjoy themselves more.
Happy holidays!

My favorite childhood memory related to the Christmas holidays is the arrival of Santa Claus in the early morning of December 25. The day before, the 24th, the whole family would get together. One year we did it at home and the other years we did it at our uncles' house. We drank soft drinks, ate sweets, and cakes and almost at midnight we all had dinner at a big table. When it was midnight, my parents told us that we should go to bed because Santa had already left the North Pole with the presents and would not deliver the cuddles if the children were awake. Well, with that motivation, the tiredness of having played all day and having eaten abundantly, I fell like a log. When the sun peeked its first rays, I would get up and check under my bed and, if there was nothing there, I would run for the Christmas tree. Those were the places where Santa would leave the presents for me: under the bed or on the tree. What wonderful days, I miss them so much, they were days of much love together with my parents.
Happy Holidays!

I remember when I went on vacation with my father to Mar Del Plata, and it was one of the ones I enjoyed the most, having an early breakfast with a lot of sleep and fruit salad, then spending the whole day on the beach... going out for a walk and enjoying the parade during the carnival season, the truth is I always remember it when I feel like going to the beach on vacation.
There's a tradition we have in our family, and that is every christmas we will travel from the city to the village, with my other cousins and nephews coming down to the village and the whole family house was filled, all the boys sleep in one room and the girls all in one room, our parent all have their rooms, then in the morning, we wake up to different chores while my mom and other women do the cooking in our big kitchen.
Then we all seat to breakfast in our big dining, talking, laughing and after wards we play some games..
The most memorable one was the last christmas we had with our grand-ma, that christmas on the 25th, we all dress in our best christmas cloths then it was time for a family photo, all the children, grand children and great-grand children, took photos mama before grand ma with her children.....
Little did we know that would be the last time we would celebrate christmas with our grand ma, by mid of the following year she passed.
I will always cherish that particular christmas...it was really memorable...thankyou @ecency for taking me back in time to unravel this memories...

My favorite holiday memory from childhood is decorating the Christmas tree with my family. We would unpack the ornaments, each with its own story, and hang them while listening to holiday music. The excitement of waiting for Santa and the joy of opening presents on Christmas morning added to the magic of the season. Those moments of togetherness and laughter are ones I cherish the most.
I'm just 23 years old. So my childhood memories are still fresh. I remember 2011 when my grandparents were still alive. At midnight we went to our friends and family's homes to congratulate them for the arrival of the new year. We shared desserts, music, dances, and a lot of fun! After that we want to the park. There was music in the street and we danced and adults bought some beer and I ate pop corn and played with my friends and ran around almost all night. We went back late at night really tired but happy for the upcoming dates. We kept celebrating until January 6th, when I went back to school again. I had toys, and new clothes and chocolates and other accessories. I have many other memories in my mind, but I think this is the most picturesque, because my family were together. We were a big family. Nowadays we are only 4.
A holiday in the village where we had gone fishing and hunting. I was 16 at that time. We often go in groups. The laugher in the process of the activities was where the entire joy was
