What I'm looking forward to is the Cooked Olympics that is going to be organised for next year I think it is.
Basically it encourages drug enhancement because it won't actually be cheating.
The reason I'm interested is to see is how these cheats in normal sport fare when everyone is on a level playing field. When there's no rules as to what you can do how do they perform then. Because if they suck with the things that made them better than non-cheats, then ultimately they just suck and the truth about them comes out.
You're looking forward to it? I think that sort of thing will signal the end of sport as we know it. I'm against it, but each to his own huh? I hate cheats and whether all those cheats are gathered together or not I still hate them. Goodbye to feats of human strength, skill and endurance and hello to sports dictated by chemists.
I don't feel it can be an "either/or" thing.
It's no different to Boxing vs Wrestling vs MMA. Why can't there be the "normal" Olympics and the "cooked" Olympics? We've already got the Paralympics which I'm actually more interested than the normal Olympics. Why not add a third?
They're already moving towards AI racing as well which I'm super keen on. I don't see the normal racing stopping as a result.
The idea that the Cooked Olympics will signal the end of sport as we know it is a bit laughable. There'll be people interested in one and/or the other. One won't cancel the other. In fact I would suggest that people would be interested in both. Seeing what can be done with just the human body as well as seeing what the human body can achieve with a bit of help are equally interesting as each other.
I genuinely believe Enhanced Olympics are just a natural evolution to sport and will not replace sport as we know it but give us something else to watch.
As were you, I was stating my opinion...you calling it laughable says a lot.
Laugh it up while you can, AI will be doing it for you soon.
Sorry, that came across a bit strong. I didn’t mean it to sound like that.
The reason I said laughable is because there’s been zero evidence of old stuff completely dying off because of newer things.
I’m a mailman who spent 18 years of my life working in IT. I literally went from email to snail mail so I can safely say that old will never die and will happily co-exist with the new.
