I've been watching the Olympics from France over the last week or so and have enjoyed watching sports that may not normally get a lot of television coverage. It's been great to watch people who are obviously at the top of their game and have put massive amounts of effort into their preparation for what may be only a brief appearance if they happen to be knocked out in the first round of their event; it's a few minutes on the world stage preceded by many thousands of hours of training and preparation, years sometimes, and at the end...there's a reward or medal...or not.
There's been some truly amazing stories emerging, it's difficult to single out just one and I think, no matter the country, such stories of massive effort, mental and physical endurance, dedication and persistence would abound; this is certainly the case for my own country, Australia who have officially had their best Olympics from a medal tally perspective ever; so many of our athletes have had to overcome great adversity just to make it through Olympic selection and finally to the Games themselves. It's rather uplifting and inspirational. #goaustralia
What I don't find inspirational and uplifting however is when people fucken cheat; not just in sports but in general. I hate cheats.
Sport is full of stories of drug (doping) cheats, athletes who don't want to work as hard as others to win so turn to performance enhancing drugs to improve their recovery, strength and endurance, clarity and other things. There's countries that are well-known for such behaviours (assholes) which draws into question the legitimacy of the results they may gain - even for their athletes who don't actually cheat. It's disgusting behaviour and I believe a drug cheat and those around them who may also be involved should be banned for life; alas, it seems that's not the case and they come back to compete again.
I feel for the athletes who finish behind competitors that cheat and can imagine their anger, disappointment and possibly lack of motivation when it happens...why continue when one's competitors have that unfair advantage and get away with it? I believe it may lead people into becoming somewhat disenfranchised with those in power who should be effectively policing sport but do not necessarily do so. Understandable I guess right? But, I'm a guy who doesn't quit and many athletes have the same ethos so they continue on regardless...they're the champions in my estimation and the drug cheats...they're just garbage humans.
What are your thoughts on doping in sport and how do you think you'd feel if you lost to a competitor that had that unfair advantage? Do you feel the penalties for cheating in sport are sufficient (I do not) and what would you feel is an appropriate penalty for drug cheats? I am in the total ban camp on that front, and you?
Feel free to comment about cheating in sports at any level or in general life...how do you feel about it and why?

Bad enough when viewed from the spectator's vantage, but it really is infuriating when you think about it from the perspective of the other athletes. The world is full of unfairness, but on the world stage with the eyes of all countries focused on the games, it seems as though the participants would be more thoroughly vetted. Not a good example to set for all the aspiring young athletes who will come after. They should be stripped of all medals and banned from ever competing in international sports of any kind.
That raspberry still looks delicious....it's holding up pretty well!! lol
There's aspects of life in which being wily, innovative and thinking outside the square is rewarded...let's say, on the battlefield where one's life hangs in the balance. This is somewhat similar in some sports where clever tactics may be required, American Football for instance. But there's no place for cheating in sport, any sport, because it's a game and also a thing which younger generations look to for inspiration...cheaters take that away...except for those who think there should be a drug-Olympics of course. 😶
You say it well in your comment, I'm just reiterating and agreeing I guess; especially with your comment on the medal-strip and banning, wholeheartedly agree...and would probably add in a public flogging or throwing off a cliff for good measure. (Did I think that list bit or actually write it? I'm not sure.)
The raspberry nipple is juicy and luscious huh? Ripe for a tweaking. I actually didn't have the brain capacity to come up with a better title or the time to find the right image so I just rolled with it...who doesn't like a juicy nipple, I mean raspberry anyway!
I think you're right...public humiliation should be brought back, in the town square with a pillory or ear nailing station. The cliff tossing is a little much for cheaters, though highly appropriate for pedophiles and murderers. Cheaters are the same as thieves so taking a hand wouldn't be out of the question. Wow..I just discovered I have a violent nature lol
I might have to print out that berry and hang it in my kitchen
Oh yeah, I was serious about the flogging, the cliff-throwimg not so much...but for pedos, murderes and rapists? Yeah...the cliff it is.
Also, #offwithyourhand...Good idea!
Print it!
Doping to cheat is a scumbag thing to do. Anyone winning and found to have been doping should be disqualified, kicked out and banned from competing for life. No second chances.
I have avoided watching any of it with the shit show they started with and allowing men to compete in women's sports. I don't need to hear about that crap every day. It's too bad for the others who deserve to be celebrated, but I did my own little boycott, which hurt no one, but kept me from fuming every time I saw or heard about it. Ugh !
That is a beautiful photo of the raspberry.
Indeed, scumbags!
I like your style, DQ'd, banned and no second chances. Right on!
I've watched some of the Olympics but have had to be selective, I've watched mainly the Aussies but I (for a brief moment) saw that USA shotput "thing" who identifies as non-binery but is woman-enough to compete in the women's shot put. At least she bombed out early and that was that. (I wonder why the beast didn't compete in the men's comp? Hmm.) You mention men competing in women's sport...so it's the same I guess and I agree with you.
I get the fuming comment, these Olympics have left me disillusioned and actually angry many times. I didn't see the opening ceremony but heard about it. I think had I seen it I'd have switched off the whole event like you have.
You like my juicy
nippleraspberry huh? I like it too, it identifies as a raspberry, not a fucken orange or a nothing.Yah, of course one of my peeves. If ya wanna juice for your own personal gain, go for it. If ya wanna juice to cheat, banned forever and should also take a beating. Hate bullies, hate cheaters, and isn't cheating just another way to bully others if you're too wimpy to do it on your own? Bah!
I think only those inclined to cheat would disagree with this.
Had you not commented I'd have known you felt this way because you're a legit human with ethics and morals.
I know things have been less than optimal man, I hope things are on track and improving.
Thanks for the thoughts and yes. Numbers are looking up almost all back up to normal. Another 10 weeks and will be done. I actually took the morning today and took my first surfing lesson. A little sore, as I'm out of shape, but was great fun and I may keep at it a bit. We'll see how sore tomorrow, lol.
Good to hear, and surfing? I'd not have expected that. Well done!
Heh, well I am a little sore, but not prohibitively so. I'm an old school skateboarder and "real" surfing was always on my bucket list. I did get up into squat a few times and actually stood up fully once for short bit.
I'll be dialing it back to BodyBoard surfing for a while though until in better shape. But the deeper bodyboarding with fins and such. The body board much easier to transport and such as well. Not ready for the 9ft board and roof mounts, etc. This was great to help make the decision, and I had great fun. It's been a while since I let loose and smiled, so a good day overall.
That sounds like. Great idea, fun and the added benefit of getting into better shape. Seems like a win to me!
I think it's disgusting. What's even worse, in my opinion, is the transgender situation. I can't fathom how that's even allowed in the Olympics. I know it's very strict this year, but the fact that it's even being introduced is messed up.
By the way, legendary title.
I agree with you GG, it's heinous, both situations. I just made a comment about the non-binery American who was "woman enough" to compete in the women's shot put...I wonder why she didn't choose the men's to compete in. (Methinks me smells bullshit.)
It's all messed up, the world too. I've heard comments (in this post in fact) that there should be a drug cheat Olympics...say what! A sign of the times...times I find repellant and I am happy to announce that publicly
My title...We all love juicy nipples so it seemed appropriate...ok, so it had literally nothing to do with the content but that's never stopped me from doing the same before...and I'm writing one the same now, on killing. I like a little misdirection now and then, it amuses me.
Thanks for your comment and whilst I know I'm not legendary my title takes a bow for the accolade.
Sometimes I wonder what people have between their ears. None of this can be normalised—just utter disgrace.
It's good that we're on the same page, Galen; not many people believe there are only #twogenders.
Enjoy your weekend.
I don't know if you ever saw the movie Highlander in which was said, "there can be only one."
Well, you and I know it's two. Lol.
I think it is horrible to be honest. I think it's definitely an unfair advantage and they shouldn't be awarded for it. Alex Rodriguez is a perfect example in baseball. Took PEDs and lied about it. Still in the hall of fame. Did you hear about the guy from your home country that is starting the "enhanced games"?
Rodrigez should be stripped of any titles or awards and struck from history...the same as those two asshole Australian cricketers who ball-tampered (on fucken camera) in South Africa in 2018. Shameful that they were allowed to keep playing and one even captained the country. I don't watch cricket any more now for that reason.
As for that dick trying to start the enhanced game...I'd like to throw him off a cliff. If you hear that someone was turfed off a cliff it was probably me sending him over. What message does that sort of shit send? Someone commented in this post about it actually, he said it was a good idea. I don't get it.
I wrote a post about it a while ago with my sports account. I'm still on the fence about it. I like the idea that they are doing it safely, but I still think it sends the wrong message. It drives me nuts that Pete Rose isn't in the baseball hall of fame for gambling, but ARod did what he did and still gets to be in.
The click bait from the title though 😂😂😂
Cheating in sports is aad and disappointing though...
The risks are always way more than the potential rewards...
Haha, at last someone commented on it!
I agree though, cheaters...not legit at all.
Cheating in general, especially in a high staked competition such as in olympics, will always be wrong. Not to mention the backlash from fans.
They should be banned for life from their (or any) sport. There's no excuses and "sorry" doesn't mitigate their behaviours.
Triumph without effort, it does not exist, for me, I have unfortunately seen too much doping and decline in the different disciplines.
And this applies to everything, Galen, you have to believe in yourself and in the team that accompanies us on the road to success.
That is the true winning attitude in what we desire, believe and work for. The garbage needs to be taken out.
When humans are concerned, there's loads of garbage and sport is rife with it. Cheaters are those who feel they can never achieve their goals without performance enhancing drugs whch indicates a poor and weak character. Losers.
I’m a little different of opinion in a way.
I hope the “enhanced games” that they are trying to start up really takes off. It’s where the athletes can take whatever they want to be at peak physical and mental capacity to do the things they do at the Olympics but with the added drugs.
I’m interested in it because it will 1) hopefully reduce the doping/cheating at the conventional Olympics and 2) show us what the limits of the human body truly are. Hopefully the athletes don’t die of course but being juiced up on all kinds of stuff - are they going to halve some of the records by traditional athletes? Who knows but it seems like an intriguing concept!
Well, it'll be the end of the clean Olympics I think...and I'm of a slightly different opinion...I hope the juicers die.
Hahaha to each their own. I don’t care either way, I don’t watch the thing. I see a clip or two but that’s about it. I think the main one I saw this year was the poor French dude losing cause his dick hit the pole lol
Yeah, well I heard they're going to change things up too...you know how they have first, second and third? Well, I heard they're going to abolish silver and gold medals and just hand out gold to everyone who participated, like this...
A race with eight people in it:
First place - Gold
First place - Gold
First place - Gold
First place - Gold
First place - Gold
First place - Gold
First place - Gold
First place - Gold
Awesome! We can't have anyone excelling over another so let's just reward mediocrity and outright failure! What a world we're creating for the kids who will take it over. ✅
Obviously I'm kidding...but I'd not be surprised if it happened.
Hahaha yeah dude, the fucking snowflakes have that on their agenda, you better believe it! That mediocrity is pathetic for sure.
Not legit at all.
Cheating in sports is not playing fair and I think the officials of Olympics are really not doing enough to stop it intoto. Heavy sanctions like ban for life would just be the appropriate punishment.
I agree, not enough is being done to dissuade people from cheating, the penalties are too light.
You said it and that is what they are. The sanction should be the expulsion of these people, they should not be there, and thus set an example of honesty and good conduct. The sanctions are very light and there is no heavy hand, which is unfair to people who really behave as they should.
I have heard terrible things about the games, injustices, too many and I find it appalling.
In life, as in sport, these things happen, and cheating and lying is the most repulsive thing of all.
These Olympics have been the worst ever and so many people have turned away from it. Ironically, it's been the best ever games for Australia but it's been a rather shameful display as an event.
I think exactly the same as you and I've been saying it to people I know all these days, shame on me.
Good for Australia!
Injustices! Pure injustices! It is despicable to see how there are people who try to do these deceitful acts.
Believe me, this topic has touched me very closely, since I was an athlete (but not in the Olympics) and in my case I suffered from Trap quite frequently.
I completely agree with applying severe sanctions to people who dare against those who truly fight year after year with sacrifice to obtain what they want.
It diminishes the efforts of those doing the right thing when drug/doping cheats are not treated appropriately and also promotes that sort of behaviour. Shameful really.
I am against doping in sports. Not only does it remove the integrity of the sport, but it can also be dangerous to the health of the athletes. If an athlete has been caught doping, they should be stripped of their awards for the event, and prevented from joining future events.
As for other unfair advantages, as long as they aren't using banned substances/practices, then it should be ok. I have read that Michael Phelps was pretty much built for swimming. His body produces less lactic acid compared to a regular person, and his body is more flexible, so he can swim faster. A recent athlete is the woman in boxing that has XY chromosomes. She has female genitalia, and was born a woman, but her body has the chromosomes that men have, making her have a muscular advantage. This is supposedly a rare condition, so one could argue that she was also built for strength sports.
But going back to doping, I heard that there is an event being planned where the organizers are going for a free for all route to see the limits of humans. Participants can use doping and other substances to get the best results. If it does become a reality, it will be interesting to see how their numbers stack up to the olympic/world records.
I hope they all die of overdoses.
I don't. I just hope they do it safely.
Participation in the Olympic Games should be the brightest moment in the life of every athlete, so when the story about the abuse of various chemical substances gets involved in such an event, that moment loses its luster.
Although I am against any kind of drugs and these chemicals in the bodies of fake athletes, I did not follow the news this year in the Olympics.
Have there been any cases?
I know that athletes from a big country are never tested for doping, so even such exclusivity bothers me. they are good, they took a lot of medals, but the very fact that they know they will never be tested for drugs casts a shadow on their won awards.
I heard about one boxing competitor (I don't know which country), with whom all the other competitors did not want to fight (I suspect that she was once a man, but she just has an excess of male hormones).
There's been a lot of controversy at these Games and it's turned a lot of people off. You mention some and yeah, the chinese...notorious drug cheats which draws into question all of their athletes whether clean or not. It's not just them though, every county has had doping issues with individuals including Australia. I don't care where they come from though, a chest is a cheat and should be stripped of titles, world records and medals and banished from the sport.
As for the bloke who won a gold medal beating up on women...well, I think you can guess my opinion on that easily enough.
Competitors from Serbia have no money for those drugs 🤣
That's why I know their medals are clean 🙂
They are currently fighting for the gold in the pool with our neighbors from Croatia.
And last night, the basketball players barely came to the awarding of bronze medals, the match was much earlier in the day, so they had time to have fun and get drunk 🍺🍾🥂
I believe doping often goes undetected more frequently than we realize, and it's something I truly dislike. It has no place in sports, and I think anyone caught should face lifetime bans and have their previous results erased. The Olympics, when tainted by doping, lose their appeal for me.
The "Cooked Olympics" doesn't appeal to me either. It turns into a contest of who has access to the most money and the best drugs. While genetics and hard work still play a role, drugs can significantly influence an athlete's performance. Although having money helps in the regular Olympics too, it’s easier to overcome compared to the advantage provided by doping.
I agree, it's probably far more prevalent than we know; I just hope I'm not inadvertently supporting a doping/drug cheat.
That idea of a cooked olympics is new to me and seems a little bonkers, but typical for the way society is these days. A competition on which lab can make the best performance enhancing drugs for humans to put in their body. Oh well, when AI and robots take over completely humans simply won't matter anymore huh?
Drag cheaters should be caught in health tests for the chemicals they use to win. Besides, the bad reaction of chemicals will have a bad effect on them. They should be kicked out of the Olympics
Yeah, hopefully their dicks fall off at some stage through all the drugs they took to perform better...or they grow a second head. That'd be hilarious.
I don't like cheating, it's cheating on everyone who works, fights and makes an honest effort. But there will always be people who want to achieve their goals dishonestly. That's why it's important that there are others who try to detect and prevent these scams.
I agree, there'll always be people seeking to take gains they do not deserve; I often wonder how those who "get away with it" deal with their deception later on but I guess people that choose to do it have no scruples in any aspect of life.
The drug cheats are scummy individuals. Knowing that what they achieve and are rewarded in accolades for was due to enhancing their bodies with chemicals. Makes me angry. There were a few cases I read about this one where they had been found with trace elements of testosterone etc that is usually an indicator of previous druggy regimes.
Should kick them out!
Sport is supposed to be a contest between humans: Skill, endurance, strength and so on, and degenerates into nothing more than a joke when performance enhancing drugs are involved. Might as well let robots do the sport for us...oh hang on, that's probably going to happen!
Haha, there are parallels with hive there 🤣🤣
Fucking robots and fucking performance enhancing buggers!!
Oh yeah, I agree!
It brings new meaning to the words smelly shit.
🤣🤣
What I'm looking forward to is the Cooked Olympics that is going to be organised for next year I think it is.
Basically it encourages drug enhancement because it won't actually be cheating.
The reason I'm interested is to see is how these cheats in normal sport fare when everyone is on a level playing field. When there's no rules as to what you can do how do they perform then. Because if they suck with the things that made them better than non-cheats, then ultimately they just suck and the truth about them comes out.
You're looking forward to it? I think that sort of thing will signal the end of sport as we know it. I'm against it, but each to his own huh? I hate cheats and whether all those cheats are gathered together or not I still hate them. Goodbye to feats of human strength, skill and endurance and hello to sports dictated by chemists.
I don't feel it can be an "either/or" thing.
It's no different to Boxing vs Wrestling vs MMA. Why can't there be the "normal" Olympics and the "cooked" Olympics? We've already got the Paralympics which I'm actually more interested than the normal Olympics. Why not add a third?
They're already moving towards AI racing as well which I'm super keen on. I don't see the normal racing stopping as a result.
The idea that the Cooked Olympics will signal the end of sport as we know it is a bit laughable. There'll be people interested in one and/or the other. One won't cancel the other. In fact I would suggest that people would be interested in both. Seeing what can be done with just the human body as well as seeing what the human body can achieve with a bit of help are equally interesting as each other.
I genuinely believe Enhanced Olympics are just a natural evolution to sport and will not replace sport as we know it but give us something else to watch.
As were you, I was stating my opinion...you calling it laughable says a lot.
Laugh it up while you can, AI will be doing it for you soon.
Sorry, that came across a bit strong. I didn’t mean it to sound like that.
The reason I said laughable is because there’s been zero evidence of old stuff completely dying off because of newer things.
I’m a mailman who spent 18 years of my life working in IT. I literally went from email to snail mail so I can safely say that old will never die and will happily co-exist with the new.
