In Peru there are also alpacas, although they are not easy to pet, quite the contrary. One alpaca put its ears back and spat something greenish-yellow at us (not to be forgotten, haha). That nuanced colour looks great, it exudes elegance, happy birthday and many more years to come!. I'm glad to keep reading posts from this community.

Sounds like the tame/not-so-tame llamas here in northeast Kansas. Llamas are sometimes used as guard animals for sheep farms. While we do have the occasional bobcat or mountain lion here, we do have plenty of obnoxious coyotes that run in packs and eat whatever they can. I think I will rely on donkeys and dogs to help with the safety of my flock.
