Hello,
I am thrilled to start the 20th season of @macfit. It features, new, special format, modeled on UEFA Champions League 2024/25. 32 players will compete in one huge league. Fear not, though, each player will only play 7 matches in the League Stage and then Playoffs will follow. Get ready for this coming Wednesday and Thursday, when the Match Day 1 is scheduled. See fixtures below.
Format
32 Players have been divided into 8 pots, based on their ranking and recent achievements. The system of play is the following:
- Players ranked #1 in each pot, will play against participants ranked #4 from all other pots, excluding their own.
- Players ranked #2 in each pot, will play against participants ranked #3 from all other pots, excluding their own.
There will be one standings table for all players. After 7 games each, the top 8 players will advance directly to the playoffs, Round of 16. Players ranked 9 thru 24 will play an additional knock-out round, and the winners will join the Round of 16.
It looks complex and I guess it is. But your role is only to be active and publish your usual @actifit report on time. I will do the rest. Enjoy the fun!
