Do you customize the wallpapers and icon designs of your smartphones?
I use an Android (Samsung), and since I can download some for free, I like to change my wallpapers and icon designs for a change sometimes.
I was using a simple design for a while but for some reason, I suddenly felt like making my phone screen look cute, so I picked this one from a collection. Although, my phone case is not cute at all! I drop my phone a lot so I rely on a black, rugged OtterBox for protection.
The design theme I downloaded included a wallpaper, icon design, ringtone, and system sounds. I like it but customizing them further is part of the fun!
The original design featured a black cat, but since my own cat is a brown tabby, I decided to draw my own. There was also a tabby cat design available, but it had a blue theme throughout the design and I preferred the colours of the black cat design.
First, I took a screenshot of my phone screen, imported it into my drawing app on my iPad, and started editing. I didn’t want to change the overall vibe of the design, so I just drew a tabby cat. I did consider modifying the original black cat to look like a tabby, but I didn't like the box so I decided to draw only the face of tabby cat this time.
Once I finished, I downloaded it and swapped it with the original. I kept the original icons as they were. I also changed the ringtone and system sounds. I switched my ringtone back to a cat meowing I was using before. I downloaded it for free a while ago. When I get a call, my phone goes, “Meooow~ Meaaa~ Meooow♪” echoes around me. It’s partly for my own enjoyment, but also because I like seeing how people react. So I deliberately take my time answering the phone! Haha.
For the system sounds, I chose Samsung’s “Retro” theme. When I tap the screen, it makes a sound like a water droplet falling into the water. And when I use the keyboard, it makes a clicking sound like an old-fashioned typewriter, which I find really fun.
Well, this is one of my many ways to lift my mood.

皆さん、スマホの壁紙やアイコンデザインはどんな物を使っていますか？
私はAndroid（Samsung)を使っていて、無料でいろいろダウンロード出来るので気分転換に壁紙やアイコンデザインを変えています。
先日までは、シンプルなデザインの物を使っていました。そして何を思ったのか、スマホ画面を可愛くしたくなったのでフリー素材の中からこちらを選びました。と言っても、ケースとかは全く可愛くないのですよ。よく落とすので黒くてごついOtterBoxを愛用しています。
壁紙とアイコンデザイン、リングトーン、システムサウンドがセットになっていましたが、ここからカスタマイズするのも楽しみのひとつです。
まず、黒猫のデザインらしいのですが、うち子のほうが可愛いので描くことにしました。キジトラのデザインもあったのですが、ブルー系のデザインで今回はこちらの色合いが好みでした。
画面のスクショを撮ってiPadのお絵描きアプリに取り込んで描きます。描くと言っても、デザインの雰囲気は変えたくないので、色を頂戴して、キジトラ風にするだけです。元の絵をキジトラにすることも考えたのですが、箱があまり可愛くなかったので、今回はキジトラの顔だけを描きました。
出来上がったらダウンロードして、アイコンはそのまま、壁紙を取り替えました。
おっと、リングトーンとシステムサウンドも替えました。リングトーンは今まで通り猫の鳴き声に戻しました。
これは前にどこかのサイトからフリー素材をダウンロードしました。電話がかかってくると「みゃおん〜♪みゃ〜♪みゃおん♪」という声があたりに響きます。自分のためでもありますが、周りの反応を見るのが面白いので、わざと時間をかけて電話に出ます、笑
システムサウンドはSamsungのレトロというのを選びました。画面をタップすると水滴が落ちる時のような「ぽわんっ♪」と音がします。キーボードを開くとこんな感じなのですが、文字を打つとタイプライターをカシャカシャ打つ時の音がして楽しいです。
というわけで、気分を上げる方法というか、アイテムの１つとしてこんなことしてるよ〜という投稿でした。
