Good point. It is important for a video game adaptation to have a clear objective and goal if it is to be successful. Even if the story isn't the most important thing, it has to be engaging enough to keep the players' interest (with variations so that it's not a carbon copy of the source material, be it movies or books). And yes, all the elements you mentioned are key to a successful game: it can't be just one thing, it has to work all at once to create a fun and engaging experience. Thanks for commenting!
