This is why the subscription model really works well for m

I see. This makes sense then why you do PSPlus reviews and not buying a ton of new games. THen have you played the beta for diablo 4? I saw a lot of people talking about this game

I know that I will not buy D4 so no, I have not played the beta. I've had a bit of a falling out with Blizzard ever since they got greedy.

What do you mean by greedy? I think a lot of companies sell games to make money but not quite sure what you mean by greedy

stopped making full games for a certain price and that was the entire game. The started making microtransactions part of the gameplay. I never enjoy these games and shun anyone that includes them in the game. Plus there was the way that they basically turned their backs on their own fans with the release of the mobile game that I never even played.

I don't know how D4 is going to be but I am sure it will have some level of this in it because Blizzard is making a lot of money off of it despite the negative backlash from fans. They'll continue to make a ton of money, but they'll have to do it without my patronage. If D4 pops up on PS Network sometime next year I'll probably have a look at it, but I am never an early adopter of games anyway.

hmmmm but I feel it's just following the trend no? If you're a business you need to keep up with what competitors are doing? I'm pretty sure most games now have added microtransactions as part of the gameplay. Usually these are cosmetics or just to speed things up which normally can be done through playing? Or maybe it's like adding expansions which is extra content but usually these are optional. but then again I don't know much about all this so I'll leave it at here.

I don't have a problem with optional cosmetics but some people have done videos about how impossible it is to get the best items in Immortal without paying real world money for them and this is no longer cosmetic, this is pay-to-win.

You are correct though, it is the industry standard now but this is because people don't turn their backs on companies that do this. I choose to turn my back.

Well this sounds like a problem. I wouldn't be a fan of this either I guess but hard to say since I'm spending quite a lot to even play games in web3 lol

I guess people have fell into the trap of accepting it. Either that or they really like the game and willing to spend which I think is maybe the aim for those companies to do. They don't care if a few turn their back because they will have some whales that really spend for the extra stuff because they love the game or want to be the best
