RE: Ghost of Tushima main story over... but there is so much more to do

I don't have a problem with optional cosmetics but some people have done videos about how impossible it is to get the best items in Immortal without paying real world money for them and this is no longer cosmetic, this is pay-to-win.

You are correct though, it is the industry standard now but this is because people don't turn their backs on companies that do this. I choose to turn my back.

Well this sounds like a problem. I wouldn't be a fan of this either I guess but hard to say since I'm spending quite a lot to even play games in web3 lol

I guess people have fell into the trap of accepting it. Either that or they really like the game and willing to spend which I think is maybe the aim for those companies to do. They don't care if a few turn their back because they will have some whales that really spend for the extra stuff because they love the game or want to be the best

I was involved in an MMO years ago called Guild Wars 2. It was / is a different kind of MMO in that there was no monthly sub fee. I played that for a very long time but lost interest several years ago. Anyway, aside from the initial purchase and any DLC they would release, buying anything in the store was completely optional and almost all of it was cosmetic. There were some items that would help you in resource gathering but unless they changed it since I was last there, there was no purchasing of epic weapons or armor. Despite this, there was a guy in my guild that one day told us that he spends around $1000 a month at the "store."

These are the customers that they want and yes, I think they are more than happy to chase away users like me in order to get more of them.

I played this too in the past but it was super grindy. I don't know how people could play all the different classes and have time for it. I only focused on the ranger but I think this was the last MMO I ever played.

They do want some like this but I don't think their intention is to scare away users like you. It's best to have all kinds of users. It's similar to what web3 gaming is now. You need some big spenders to keep the ingame economy afloat but for web2 is to keep the company to keep producing more games or improving their current game. I think it's ok as long as the game has great value and fun to play I don't think there's anything wrong with getting people to spend optionally. It's just like entertainment money for most at least that's what I Hope :P that people are spending their money responsibility and not impulsively

One of the features of GW2 was that they didn't have the holy trinity of tank/healer/dps.... But I actually enjoyed that part of MMO's because I kind of enjoyed being a supplemental character rather than a main damage dealer. I enjoyed being a healer but there is no healing class in GW2. Everyone is a healer and no one is. haha.

I wouldn't say the game is grindy because it is really easy to hit max level especially if you go and play in a group of people who are engaging enemies way above your level.

There is potential for a good story in GW2 but nobody actually plays that, everyone just follows a group around a board getting all the good stuff that is meant to take days of exploration to accomplish. I guess the community decides on their own to skip this stuff. I haven't played in years and have no intention of ever playing it again but for about 2 years it was part of my daily life.

OOOO i didnt know that lol
I Played myself :(. I just played for fun though I didn't actually go hardcore until find groups and grind to max level. Takes too much time for me for MMOS. I'll never touch them again I don't have time for them and I know I'll get addicted so i stay claer :P And I think you do as well :)

yes, that is probably good idea. Every now and then people try to recommend a game to me and I'll say "is it am MMO? Because it sounds like an MMO" If it is an MMO, I pass. Way too all encompassing those games are and I think they are bad for your life.

xD that's a good question. Is it an MMO and probably what type of game is it. You are right they are bad for our life. Even all these genshin players I don't know how they playing that for so long and spending so much money @_@
