I love online ordering, but as said, we haven't tried ordering food yet. So I can't say whether we like it or not, but I think buying food is really something I'd prefer to do directly in the shop.
But I can completely understand you and your wife, especially after my wife was shopping the other day and said she didn't feel very secure because many people didn't care about distancing and wearing masks and such.

Ohh you and me both , people talk about things they look forward to when things return to normal, for me a walk around a supermarket is one of those things LOL
Here most of the restaurants are open for curbside pickup or delivery, but we haven't tried it as my wife has strict dietary concerns so its better for us to cook for ourselves
Yeah, just go shopping, have a look around and fill the shopping cart with things I don't need, that sounds good 😉
Many of our restaurants have been delivering or you could order a meal and pick it up there, just as you said. We haven't used any of these, and I think we even have ordered less from our usual delivery services than before.
Cooking for yourself is better anyway and I do prefer the pizza that my wife makes 🍕
Yeah its just the thought of actually walking the aisles and thinking of things you forgot on the list or should not have been on the list but you want anyway LOL
On our drive last evening I noticed lots of people lined up ( most with good distancing outside a couple of restaurants, and see so many posting about the take out they have got, I know so many restaurants may be struggling but some seem to be doing good business, just not from us lOL
Yes, that's shopping as I know it - short list, but the cart is full of goods, except for the things that were written on the shopping list.
Here you have to reserve a table beforehand and can come with a maximum of 3 adult people at the same time. Children don't count. In the restaurant there is a large gap between the tables and only the waiters wear masks - masks would be quite uncomfortable for guests when eating. I also don't think I'll be visiting a restaurant anytime soon.
Ohh yeah thats the same with me, even worse when I shop with my stepson when I visit them, the grandson is very good at sneaking things he wants into our shopping cart, not that I ever mind
Ohh yeah eating in a mask would be a challenge, I think they are talking about when they open here restaurants can open at one quarter of their normal capacity, fine for big restaurants but will be hard for small ones I would assume
Shopping with children is always funny - I remember that we have sometimes bought things we have never put into the shopping cart. But that was never anything expensive, just sweets or little toys which we had bought them anyway if they asked :)
Yes, it is going to be really hard for the small restaurants and shops - I think when they have to keep distances between the tablesin the restaurants it might be about two thirds or a quarter of their space here too. We don't have many big restaurants - most are smaller and this will be very hard for some I think.
I do feel for the restaurant owners, I think take out and curbside pickup may well be more popular than dining out for a while yet
