Residential Schools, Unmarked Graves, and Infant Mortality

in Proof of Brain4 years ago

After reading a lot on the topic and actually recalling. I have two sisters who are in unmarked graves. Not everyone gets a tombstone for ones grave. Back in the early twentieth century children would die from diseases, like influenza, scarlet fever, tuberculosis. Only the white people who had enough money to pay for the grave stone got a grave stone. A quick search reveals a gravestone to cost $1,000. During the great depression it might have been difficult to scrounge enough money to pay for this when you know you're not going to really get any enjoyment out of it. Most people studying in school don't plan beyond ten years and often discount the possibility of early mortality. Graves often were and are marked with wooden crosses which rot over time.

Children were not treated so much as multi-generational long term investments for your future family tree. They were sent to other people's houses to work to bring in money for the parents. This way the more children you had, the more wealthy you could be rather than the other way around like it is today... at least in most of the west.

We have seen #antiwhite and #antichristian propaganda before. One should see it for what it is. The communist playbook is to try to create division and hatred among their 'enemy' and that's regular folks of all colors. What do you think the use of #blacklivesmatter? Doesn't that phrase imply that the consensus is lives don't matter when the people who die are black? Why not say ourlivesmatter?

With the Residential Schools in Canada, these were not children being sent to work someplace… these were indigenous children removed from the homes of their indigenous parents and sent to a place run by priests and nuns to learn the new religion of the ruling Government (Christianity) …. The Indigenous people, the Anishinaabe spiritual beliefs were seen as a form of paganism, they called God, The Creator of everything “Gitchee Manitou” (Great Spirit) they believed that the Great Spirit was everywhere, in all things, plants, animals, trees, rocks, everything … they were seen as heathens and their old religion needed to be beaten out of them. They were seen as demons and filled with evil spirits, if they did not obey the rules of the New Religion they were abused and murdered. Many of them did not speak English and when they were told you must worship Jesus , they thought they were saying Ghizziz …. The Moon.

What a story!

This was heart wrenching. And I agree every life should matter. But I think that's been the case with promoting most forms of inequality. I still witness countless feminists propagating 'respect women' mindlessly. But why just women should be respected. Why not respect everyone if he/she deserves it.

The problem with this kind of mentality is that, it doesn't just helps in combating the inequality among classes, but it also sows the seed to reverse it. The marginalized class is pushed to develop hatered against the whole oppressing class rather than just the oppressing ideas.

Thanks for sharing this.

This post was an impactful sensitivity. It is very sad to see this news about indigenous children in Canada. In a series called Anne with a E is approached superficially how the Catholic Church did to teach these children to read and write, when I saw the series at the time I had no idea... After I saw the news I was really shocked.

basically i see the statement of #blacklivesmatter as a statement to defend the black from the hand of the white who are racist in other to abolish racism. but it will be cool if the slogan can be changed to what you suggested #ourlivesmatter, because with the scenario you gave it shows that it is what affect both white and black.

Yes I think the particular phrase is chosen more to divide the victims of police violence than to do anything about it. There were heaps of cases of people being harassed by police earlier that same year. Not to mention shot. The lamestream media ignored it until it hit the profile they wanted.

20210710_165411.jpgIn future, try to disassociate "antiwhite propaganda", "antichristian propaganda", "communist playbooks" and #blacklivesmatter. Some Guy on youtube is letting you down bigtime

And if, for all the obvious reasons that association is ridiculous, you can't separate them, miss me with the post.

Thanks

I don't think it is in every person's heart but you if you cannot see the pattern, you're not paying so much attention to the lame stream media, public education and big tech approved content which is a good thing. There has been a disproportionate negative attention on these groups in the lamestream media. I normally find out about what they say here on Hive. I've stopped watching them.

Great an nice
