RE: Fighting daily against excessive daydreams.

in Proof of Brain3 years ago

Oh God!, I thought I was the only one going crazy and feeling frustrated..

Excessive day dreaming as you call it has been my battle and I still can't defeat it till today..

I just do it everyday and it has been happening to me for so long and just like you said, the end result is alway ls sadness and frustration..

I imagine things and how I want my life to be and snapping out of the imagination to face reality makes me feel I'm having the worst time... Sometimes after these imaginations, you begin to ask yourself, is this how I'm gonna make it...?

Does going to school help or should I go into trade / business? This wealthy people, how did they do it?, and later I we nd doing things people do just to be like them..

I always drown in my thoughts and imagination, @aiuna how did you stop this?...

I try the music thing, sports and I always try to keep my self busy but it's not just working, I end up going back to this imaginations....

Please help

I know you are passing. It's hard for me to tell you how to help because it took me years to perfect, and I still suffer from it. You need to show your mind who's boss. When you are going into a daydream, you need to tell yourself that you need to go back, you need to affirm to yourself that it is not real, it is not true life to be imagining... You need to focus on the present moment. I'm always trying to rescue myself when I go into a daydream, I rarely allow myself to be taken too long these days... But it's hard work. You need to realize that being in dreaming is self-deception, and that will only happen if you repeat to yourself over and over again that it's not real life and that you'll never have what you imagine. You have to give yourself reality shocks all the time.
