A walk through Nietzsche's Will to Power // Um passeio pela Vontade de Poder de Nietzsche

in Proof of Brain4 years ago (edited)

Everyone knows Nietzsche, either because of his rather large mustache or because of his unique and fantastic philosophy that practically transformed the world in an even rebellious and reluctant way for the literate and serious men of academic philosophy. Nietzsche did not care what classical and collared people thought of his way of thinking and writing, as if in outbursts of intense philosophical reverie, in energetic violence of ideas almost overflowing from his classic aphorisms. But, what made Nietzsche a person with such vigor to expose his ideas, and even if with a dense and practically chaotic content at certain times, forever mark philosophy? I don't have a ready answer for that, but what I do know is that above all, I can feel the power in his words. Clearly. Not by chance, one of the strongest themes in Nietzsche is exactly "The Will to Power", but what does that mean anyway?

Will to Power.png
The two photos contained in this post are of my daughter in situations where she was or not, managing to fulfill her desire to be able to do whatever she wanted!

The Will to Power, or in the German "Der Wille zur Macht" that Nietzsche expressed in a constant but indirect way in its deep contents, is nothing less than the "fuel of human life". The driving force that drives us towards desire and then to the desired object. It is what gets us out of bed in the morning, it is what promotes moments of reverie about the future, or even a desire to "feel again" that explains looking to the past. Man is an animal that "wants", that needs. And that, given the social and cultural paths and directions that he follows, he will do everything he can to achieve it, some even illegally. But the will to power is simpler than a conceptual tangle of why a man desires. It is the act itself, it is the need. We wish. Everything.

Naturally, it’s not for me to go into a deeper layer about how far Nietzsche has come with his argument from power, why, it goes far beyond my limited understandings. How much further? At the level that he argues that for existence to exist, someone wanted it to exist. And if someone wanted it to exist, would that someone be God? In the view of the striking and mustachioed megalomaniac, God is nothing but a human myth in the eternal search for a greater father who watches and cares. In this way, he himself leaves open the hypothesis that in this case, existence may have been infinite, or rather, it is infinite, and has existed forever, and forever. Confused enough?

Thus, within a concept free of religious arguments, the philosopher considers that there is no "Origin of the desire for Power", there is only its inherence. It is part of the protocol, the script of the cosmos. A cat simply wants to catch a mouse, it doesn't plan (like Tom and Jerry), a shark doesn't think twice about eating a smaller prey, it just fulfills the act of its desire, just as two dogs in heat have fun without shame in front of anyone, just as a mosquito desires your blood. But ... What does the man want? We could digress so much here. We must? Why not? When a man is born, he wants only a few things, a few things (does he know that he wants or just screams, screams, and screams until he discovers something that makes him want to scream, and so does the first satisfaction of desire arise?), in this case, these things are The warmth of your mother (or someone else), the thirst/hunger/nutrition that comes from the breast (or at least so expected the programmer who developed the human-machine) and attention. These desires are kept supplied until then we want more, we want to go there, go there! We want to walk! I need to get that colored ball! I want that doll! I will cry as long as I am not able to crawl there! And then, we walked, and we want to know! We want to go as far as possible! We want to run and it's fun to run away from parents! It's great to laugh! We can and wish to have fun because it is pleasant... I would love to continue this beautiful daydream about the growing desire in us as babies and children, but, I need to finish this text!

Yes i can!

The fact is that even though we grow up, that we fit into a society full of very strict rules and behavioral standards and much less explicit than the animal world, behind the innumerable layers of masks and correct costumes for unwanted moments, we live still wishing, we still live within the natural, instinctive, inherent protocol of the man of power, and when he cannot, he wants power. So simple, yet so complicated to talk about philosophical themes, but it is a challenge that I definitely like. And what power do we look for when we participate in a contest with the POB Word of the Week, the power to grow a little within the community? The power to desperately withdraw all that POB and buy something we need? Pay the bills? Yes, paying bills is one of our powers, sometimes "we can" not pay. Or maybe the power to become financially independent of jobs that chain us? In my case, it is all this at the same time, but without a doubt the power to be active and feel integrated into this community so intense and pulsating that it has transformed Hive into something much bigger than we can conceive yet!

SEPARADOR-DE-TEXTO-1.png

Ele faz parte do protocolo, do script do cosmos. Queremos andar! Preciso pegar aquela bola colorida! Eu quero aquela boneca! Eu vou chorar enquanto eu não conseguir me arrastar até lá! E logo então, andamos, e desejamos conhecer! Desejamos ir até onde for possível ir!

Human wants are never satisfied till death.

Most times we really don't know what we want exactly, we just sit and get confused, then get mad that we don't have a specific thing, but funny enough we don't really know what that specific thing is in real sense. Our anxiety gets the best of us most times, but sometimes this desires could come as a motivation, a source of encouragement to hit with double the energy, but it could also be a destructive force.

This was a great read, it really has that unusual feel to it 👌

Thanks!! I'm glad it was a pleasant reading, I still need to improve my English to make the translation more fluid, but little by little I get the hang of it! On the "unreachable" and "inaccurate" desire, I agree. We act based on basic and attainable desires, like the ones I exemplified: eating, sleeping, feeling good.
But as we go deeper into this human social and cultural protocol, the more confused and inaccurate is the understanding of what we are really looking for. We may even have the power to go after it, but do we know where to go?

Very interesting. Enjoyed reading your article. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks man! I still have a hard time letting English flow but I try to use some tools to help with that! Good luck to us :)

Good post matey - Nietzsche's work is not discussed enough ....

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Certainly, mate! Nietzsche has a lot of content to be unraveled and absorbed and although he is such a famous philosopher, he does not reach all the people he could, maybe bringing more of his ideas here is a good idea!

I've been throwing things in posts here for the last couple of years.

There isn't enough room on the blockchain to dissect Nietzsche!

(after posting around 200,000 words or so, of explanations - and doing a job that would make most probably make 'him' cringe - I'm now onto page ...2 ...lolol)

The driving force that drives us towards desire and then to the desired object.

This is the life-blood of humans. The power to want something and most times get the desired objects, and most times we don't. But the ability to actively desire something and either choose to work towards it or not, alone is a blessing. It keeps us alive and kicking. Once we stop desiring things, we will see life turns meaningless for we no longer have reasons to look forward to the next moment or day or our lives.

God is nothing but a human myth in the eternal search for a greater father who watches and cares.

The fact that you said "a search for a greater father who watches and cares" brought me to tears. And that is because it is true.

We want to be looked after, that is why our parents are our best buddies, no matter how bad they treat us.

Again, that is why our wives, daughters, fathers, and brothers, who work effortlessly to protect us are gods in our eyes. We love to know that someone cares, and is watching over us.

And even from birth, the scream that turned into being breastfed was a cry for power, and once we grew we wanted more(to crawl, to walk, to find freedom from our parents, to marry someone we love, to travel the world, to raise children or parts, to work, to be financially free, etc)

And yes with our community, we desire the power to grow into a community that is worthy of emulation, and as such, we initiate all the engagements, and the crowd's flocks around, giving us a tiny bit of that power.

Yet we want more because desiring more keeps us alive.

Great comments, my dear! I'm glad you read it and thank you for your feedback. Without a doubt that this search for power, the desire to follow is our great energy that keeps us going, always moving forward! And the list of family members that you commented that touched you, even aroused my desire to write more about the subject, why I love psychology and this relationship of child development and its involvement with the world, and I see it daily with my daughter.

I am glad I inspired something

The psychology around children-parents relationship may take our entire life to truly understand

That is because a mother or father will go the extra mile to make their children comfortable even if they are not.

They never want their children to suffer or be exposed to violence or harsh lives.

I guess this is why they work tooth and nails to ensure their children have better lives than they did

I would love to read all of those writing around these subjects....please tag me when you do

Thank you very much

This one really got me thinking. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to philosophy and deeper thinking but I can relate to what you've shared and it's given me a strong desire to explore Nietzsche's work further.

we live still wishing, we still live within the natural, instinctive, inherent protocol of the man of power, and when he cannot, he wants power.

It's good to see that @lucylin picked up on this post. I have been following their blog for a good while now and I can see how some of the philosophies and lessons shared are closely linked. More of this please, very educational.

PS. Hilarious photo, lol.

Hey, mate! Thanks for reply! I strongly advise you to deepen your reading in Nietzsche, he is a bit complicated, but the big secret is to find good scholars of the subject, who translate into the human version the things that madman used to say LOL I honestly have a lot of difficulty reading his contents, however, I have read so much about him in the view of some scholars and also about Nietzsche himself and his life, that I ended up absorbing much of the knowledge indirectly. And believe me, we all have a lot in common with his ideas! Thanks again, I will write more of the philosophy, as it flows from me, why it's not so easy to give birth to good texts hahah! Good to see that you liked my little girl's mess! She loves arts and all the dirt she can do hahah!

I definitely will give his work a whirl. I'm finally starting to trade out the TV for reading once I've clicked off for the day, I'll let you know how it goes one way or another!

Some will only realize when it may be too late, others have already understood and are building a better future in a systematic and patient way.

That's what I've been trying to do! But it is complicated living in this social "steamroller" that puts us in checkmate sometimes. I avoid taking it out and I can see how much we can grow here, but sometimes it is necessary to pay some bills! In addition, persistence and consistency, stick with it!:)
