Rubroboletus rhodoxanthus, fungo compatto, grande, che presenta un cappello dalla cuticola feltrata, colore biancastro e più o meno rosata lungo i margini e nelle zone laddove sia rimasta qualcosa attaccata come foglie o stessi funghi adiacenti che non hanno permesso lo sviluppo della cuticola.

I tubuli sono corti e i pori piccoli, colorazioni rosse/ aranciate che al tocco virano al blu.

Il gambo è abbastanza massiccio, cilindrico con base leggermente ingrossata. Importante il reticolo rosso lungo tutto il gambo che si contraddistingue col giallo sottostante. Caratteristica importante nella determinazione di alcune boletacee.

Altra caratteristica importantissima in questa specie che la contraddistingue da funghi simili come Imperator rhodopurpureus, Rubroboletus satanas e Rubroboletus rubrosanguineus è la carne virante al taglio solo nella zona del cappello e la parte apicale del gambo. Colore giallo cromo nella parte mediana e rossiccia nella parte basale.

Grazie deli! I colori del fungo spesso non determinano una specie perchè possono essere falsati da un'esposizione troppo ombreggiata o assolata, ma anche dal tipo di terreno e quindi non deve essere mai un carattere distintivo da prendere in considerazione per la determinazione di una specie. Al contrario invece per quanto riguarda i colori nei Viraggi della carne quando si fa una sezione. Questo in molti funghi può dare le sorti nella determinazione di una specie quando abbiamo dei dubbi, in questo caso infatti avere un viraggio al blu solo nella parte del cappello e poco nella parte superiore del gambo ci dice siamo davanti a un rhodoxanthus e non altri funghi.
Un'altra cosa sui viraggi, per sfatare alcuni miti, non è vero che se virano al blu allora non sono commestibili, la commestibilità di un fungo non è data mai dal viraggio di una carne, ad esempio il Neoboletus praestigiator che vira moltissimo al blu in tutte le sue parti è un buon commestibile dopo adeguata cottura.

What could I have imagined that it would have such vivid and ‘appetising’ colours underneath. Is this mushroom poisonous or satanic? no, I know the satanic one doesn't have such juicy flesh. Hahaha... interesting post. I had never seen those you point out at the end. The yellow one looks like a plastic bag.

Rubroboletus rhodoxanthus is considered toxic and therefore inedible.
In the last photo you mention, on the bottom, is Boletus regius, a very good bolete.
