I hope you can get past the initial shock to grasp the underlying fundamentals that will improve your sovereignty. Just like in your examples, in both cases the shock of the initiating event enabled improving relationships by acknowledging reality, of a worthless partner and an unreliable friend. Canada's longstanding mismanagement has far more negatively impacted Canadians than it has Americans, and no one will benefit more from beating your polity into submission to the civilian population than that population.
Also, consider that Trump may be just doing what the Rothschild banksters he is a groveling minion of tell him to do. Plans for a N. American union of states have been proposed by our overlords for more than 5 decades. America has suffered the Malthusian whip more than even Canada, it's polity far worsely managed than Canada's. Do note this isn't Kyle Rittenhouse's plan, nor mine, just as much as it isn't yours or Castreau's. There are machinations afoot we must wrangle or be wrangled by, and there's more common ground we stand on than wall between us.
Thanks!
To accept realities nowadays is tough, since being in denial is in high fashion, I'd say. But you are correct, better to accept what's true than to deceive the self.
You and the Canadians have indeed more in common than what makes you different from one another, since language is the one and foremost thing to share. There should not be hostility between the folks only because the leaders are at each others throats.
We, unfortunately, are in the very same situation and since we are on a very long leash to our big brother across the ocean, he will drag us down when he falls. Why do I still hope that he doesn't?
I feel so sorry about how messed up vast parts of US America became, the phentanol zombie areas, the abandoned cities, the neglected neighborhoods, the crime ... when you look at German cities, you see it here as well, if you open your eyes. But I do care for the rest of you, for the wonderful people I met in real life as well as online. I never had more interesting conversations. I know no one in my circle of Germans with whom I had the same quality of exchange ... but maybe, it is because of English and many things just sound better in a foreign language. LoL
I think you need to understand the complexities of Canada more than you currently do. Stating we speak the same language for one, couldn't be more false. Our culture is not the same and we won't be the 'just another state' unless they take it by force.
98.5% of all residents speak English or French (67.5% speak only English, 13.3% only French and 17.7% both). 85% of all French-speaking Canadians live in Québec. (from the German wiki)
Where did I say that you have the same culture? I said that you speak the same language, which is obviously a fact and I said that it is a lot to have in common. I do not speak Dutch, for example, even though the Netherlands is our neighbor, or Danish (Denmark), which is also our neighbor. If I do not speak the language of a country it makes me differ very much, while when I speak it, I have an easier access to the culture of it.
There is an history of Americans accepting stupid things that impacted Canada. Maybe we're just tired to letting go and being understanding with them.
Yes unless the "folks" are stupid enough to re-elect this guy.
Familiarity breeds contempt they say, and if you are surrounded by family and lifelong friends, you often may well understand - or think you do - each the others thoughts about major events and substantive principles. The degradation of civil society across the West is a crime, and it is all the world that is robbed of the good intentions and hard work to create the blessings of civilization.
It is always more intriguing and challenging to address deep principles, as you do, in a language you were not born speaking. Your superlative skill at English is an inspiration, although I haven't had occasion to speak French, that sole language besides English I learned much of, in ~50 years.
Thanks!
HaHa! True. But it also breeds an instant humor.
Yes. 100 %.
When younger, I was snobbishly lifting my nose towards such an expression. How foolish that was.
Ah! Right, that is correct! There is something to it, in trying to understand aliens. To become better by diving deep into a foreign language, is like climbing up stairs and entering very interesting rooms on that way!
You speak French, I envy that. I do love the accent and melody of it and can perfectly mimic it but never learned it. C'est dommage.
Mais, c'est bein ca! Vouz parlez la Belle Langue plus mieux que vouz dit.
Le français c'est aussi la culture du Canada
C'est vrai en Quebec, mais pas autre places.
LOL 50 years I haven't spoken it, and suddenly I can hear the words again in my head. When I was 11 I thought in French. After leaving France I thought that part of my brain was overrun with English, but I find it has been dormant all this time.
New Brunswick has a big French population and Ontario too.
Having only visited other parts of Canada, I was unaware. My need to travel as a resident of Alaska was the primary reason I visited Canada, because it is impossible to travel directly from SE Alaska to other regions remaining entirely internal to Alaska, but needing to pass through Canada on the Al-Can Highway to drive there.
I knew that.
Sorry didn't mean to be rude. I'm glad there is some people on the internet that are not interesting only by their own belly button. Props to you ✌️
Thank you, appreciated. My belly button is indeed not the most interesting subject in the world.
