I could have stayed home...

There are walks that bring more fun than you could think at first. Maybe you even go for that walk just because someone called you and half-insisted. Your idea was staying at home, maybe being lazy, writing or reading and leaving the physical activity for another day. I was tempted to say that tomorrow would be a good day for this long walk, as here in Spain there are many occasions you just say mañana and you postponed the thing for at least a few days, or a week. Or more.

In the end, I agreed. We went to conquer the path that leads by the river and reaches the orchards. It takes around two hours to make this round, more than 120 minutes (this seems to give more weight haha) of moving your feet constantly. Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot... (this is faster when you walk or read the words than writing them down 😂). Although it is not as demanding as dancing, playing some musical instruments or doing some sports at the pro level.

Leaving behind the river and mountain part, we entered the world of nísperos (loquats). It is my favourite early spring fruit, especially if I find it in some of the walks like this one. Just to clarify things - I do not take any fruit from a tree that is officially part of someone's garden. No. But I do treat myself with some of these when I find a tree that grows in the land that belongs to no one. You see just bushes around in an abandoned state... so no problem to take one loquat, right? (hmm, two actually, but we don't have to count this time). Yummy.

I was lucky with the fruits but so strange that I was unable to do something I am usually good at. Let me explain. When I see a cat on the street I usually try to cuddle it, many times with a success. They come close to me and I pet them, but during this walk it was impossible.

At least ten cats crossed our path but not even one came close to me. The first one was a cat in the forest. She was half-wild.

IMG_20230410_180120.jpg

The next one, a black kitty just gave me a look. Don't even think about coming closer, human.

IMG_20230410_182603.jpg

The third one disappeared almost completely from the photo when I made a few steps to get closer. Bad, bad luck. And so on, we can count all of the cats I have seen and scared away... though it would just remind me of that unsuccessful experience of taming the cats this time.

Another four-legged creature passed by us and it was so beautiful. I took a photo of this man riding the handsome horse, but it was just a moment and they were gone.

A separate part of the post should come to explain the presence of the mirrors.
Hold on. The explanation is simpler than it is thought. A few days ago someone asked me why there are so many mirrors by the road and on fences so let's try to bring it here.

These paths that are situated in the more rural parts of the towns are narrow and full of curves. When you drive here you don't really see if there is another vehicle coming your way. Because of that, mirrors are placed so one can see if someone is coming and in that case drive a bit slooooooower.

IMG_20230410_175051.jpg

IMG_20230410_175201.jpg

Also, when one has to come out from its yard, and there is no good visibility, on the other side of the road there are mirrors to show the road. They prevent the traffic accidents.

IMG_20230410_182449_BURST1.jpg

Once we passed the mountains, the orchards and loquats, the scared cats, the horse, the mirrors, we entered a calm neighbourhood. There is still just one narrow path, it is at the same time the road for the cars but for the pedestrians too. We could see some mirrors here too, but I already showed a few, no need to spam the post with them hahah. Anyway, they can easily break, so let's pay attention to the plants. Some of the pots with succulents by the road:

IMG_20230410_182908.jpg

...and more plants and flowers on the windows's sills. The houses in this area are white and the flowers behind the grids make a nice contrast.

IMG_20230410_182944.jpg

All in all, I was happy in the end to make this walk. That is true that I could stay at home and save myself from chasing the cats and climbing the hills, but those loquats and the flowers made me feel that the effort paid off.

Beautiful pictures!
I would love to go there too!

I have a question: you didn’t eat all the medlar, did you leave a little on the trees? 🤣

Hahahaa, all the fruits dissapeared after my visit... It is a great mystery why hahahahha

Well, the reason is clear to me, since I see everything from Cyprus 🤣

You have good eyesight :P

😁

Yeah, I just don't notice anything about myself 🤣

10 cats and not a single cuddle?! that's a bit disappointing... but a very nice walk after all... eh?

Yeah, at least ten cats... it was so strange, as you know that they usually come to me. 🤷‍♀

The walk was a nice one, that's true. The positive side of it 😁

Nice! We're almost back to shoveling snow and you are eating nísperos from the street. 😐 Where is spring this year? Nice walk by the way.

Oh no, again with bad weather? I hope spring will come soon to your place too 😇 🌸

Spring is here finally 🙂

Finally :)))
Enjoy the spring, and we hope no more snowy surprises until next winter :))

I loved this paseo de miércoles and I have never tried a níspero, but they look tasty. How are they inside? I think you should go back there, take one and cut it in half so I can get a good look at it 😂.
Hey, are you sure about the hugging unknown cats thing, do you have a super power?
How interesting about the mirrors. I'm the one who won't survive if I don't go to bed now.

Bona nit

I will definitely go back, or try to find another níspero, cut it in half and show a photo, vale? It is not just the liqueur that I like :D
This is somehow a local fruit here, the taste is between sweet and sour, maybe something between apricot and plum. It has three or four big seeds in the centre. I also tried it here for the first time, though I know that there are loquat trees also in Portugal and I think in Greece.

The mirrors. Sometimes they break, though I saw that these ones have red frames. Hope you indeed went to sleep and had good rest. But not nice news from me right now, Miss Migraine came an hour or two ago. I need to scare her away!! If the cats were running from me that day, why this thing can't go away (sight 😔)

Nooooooo... 😩 ¿Y el agua? ¿Cuánta has bebido hoy?

I saw that these ones have red frames.

😆 (No pienses en esto, this is not important)

Tema Migraña: You should rest and do something now before that lady goes any further... ay :(

It was a warm day so I was taking enough water, pero quizás no suficiente... iba bien el día, hasta hace poco. But I will get better (hope not after a thousand years hahaha)

no abuses de la panatalla.

intentaré

Really nice walk, I never see mirrors on street before , if they put it in Cuba probably will be stolen 😅😅 , the cat seems very wild like my Pituky , they won't allowed people touch them, those flowers at the windows look so beautiful I need bring some of those to my mother garden 🤗 . You see, at the end go outside is rewarding, even if we are lazy in home , the life happens outside 😂 Have a beautiful day!

No mirrors in Cuba for this purpose? We also have one in front of the garage exit of the building. It is a useful thing ;) Pituky, she is a really beautiful one! I usually manage to cuddle the cats that I see in the streets, but this Monday (as this walk happened then) the cats decided not to collaborate 😂
The garden of your mother is beautiful, I saw it yesterday 😇
And thank you for checking out my post, I hope your foot is healed by today ;)

It is almost healing , thanks 😊

I don't think I've ever taken a walk that lasted that long, usually I just walk and rest for an hour or more and head back. But, like you said, the walk was worth it, I'd go on a walk this long if I'll get mangoes on the trip 😂 or get to see cute babies all the way 😂.

Ay @sekani , then you have to find the path where manoges grow 😂 and walk walk walk a lot :)) (also, eat a lot them 😁 )

I thought you'll say, you took a photo of the handsome man riding on the horse .hehe.
Happy humpday @mipiano 😊

Hahaha, to be honest, I didn't look much at the man, but at that beautiful horse :)))
Happy Wednesday @jane1289 to you too! 🌼

A worthy stroll indeed. Sometimes, we just have to come out and see the beauty of the things we bumped into.☺️

Exactly. There is beauty everywhere, our is just to recognize it :))

Absoulutely right. Sometimes, we fail to appreciate the beauty of things right in front of us because we are to busy searching beauty somewhere else. ☺️

The same happens with me too. When I don't want to go out then it becomes a fun or opposite when I think it will be a great walk then something happens then I think I wish I wouldn't go out)) Anyway it is good to go out))

Hahaha, yeah, there are days when we wait for great things and nothing goes well. But let's focus on the good ones and remember them ;)
Thanks for stopping by 😇

Today I died of tenderness with your walk, I love cats and horses, nature is amazing.

I really enjoyed it as if I had been there.

To a walko.... don't say "I'll leave it for tomorrow". It renews the soul.

Thank you for such a beautiful walk!❤️

I know, no "mañana" excuses for walks, but there are days I would just gladly stay inside haha
In the end, this route was so nice, yes cats (but bad luck as they were not in the mood to come closer) a horse and the fresh air were enough reasons for going out. I am glad this walk came to you and that you enjoyed the views as we did. Gracias @avdesing 😇

Thank you very much to you for making me enjoy these images that recall a beautiful walk!❤️

It is my favorite writer in Hive. Very witty always, for the places that you visit and the interesting things you know if it could read in Spanish is perfect.

I really enjoy writing these posts and bringing a glimpse of the world of how my eyes see it. Spanish is a bit more difficult for me, to write an entire post but I am sure that you also understand my English. 😉
Saludos 👋

Yes, I really like what you write and I strive to understand and learn without using a translator. Thank you

Such a cool walk, I always fond those curved mirrors so fascinating

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk, Sorry last week was a bit rough for me and I not only did not get out for any walks, but also was not able to visit all the walks from last week, but feeling better this week and visiting posts again which is always fun for me to visit the walks from all around the world, getting a feel for communities where people live and what they see on their daily walks

Thanks 😉

Most welcome
have a good day

Mañana, I wanna hear you pronouncing this!😁

It's because you don't believe that I can be lazy? 😂

It's really good to have a walk some times because walking is also an exercise which burn fat from the body

Then capturing beautiful moment like you did make it more fun
That fruit looks like guava but it's not
I haven't seen the fruit before anyways

This fruit is growing here, and just at this time. Maybe a few weeks, and then again I have to wait for one whole year to have it.

😂

{psst! claro que leí el post de Nani 😉}

Jajjajajahja qué manera de reírme 😂😂😂

😂😂😂

Jajjajaja.

Yo no,yo me porté bien 🤣

😑😑😑🤣

🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭😂😂😂😂😂 sorry not sorry 😂

This is atmosphere in my country too when it is the hill, mirror is set up. I think I would bring those fruit to my house and ask somebody how it tastes or it edible instead of trying this immediately. I guess, sometimes we choose the unpleasant decision, but thing isn't always negative. Enjoy your day dear.

I already know these fruits, I do it every spring - search for them and eat :D
But I understand your point of view, there are fruits that we shall check first if they are edible or not.

What a beautiful neighbourhood with those flowers in the windows, it looks like a children's story from "Once upon a time...". Same with the landscape pictures, a lovely place!

Like from a tale, yes, it can be seen like that 💫
I do like this route, as it offers different landscapes, from wild nature to fuits and houses, cats and people, al mixed 😇

Welllllll... You've only yourself to blame, but hey at least you had some pretty decent views over there!

One can't really even walk like that in my country... Too damn dangerous😂😱

The views here are something I do like a lot, just said in another comment too that this route passes through different areas, so we can be surrounded by nature, orchards, then cats, houses, people... all in two hours more or less ;)

Going for a walk in this weather has its own fun, when the clouds have come and the wind is blowing, one gets to see many new things along the way, the way you saw this bed. If you went near it, it would run away. Due to keeping flowers etc., the beauty of the house has increased a lot.

The houses inded have nicer look with those flowers. The walls are white so every of those colourful flowers make a really nice contrast and decoration ;)

what a cool picture of the man on the horse. in such a place it is also very good to ride a horse.

Yes, the place is good for riding a horse, much better than in a busy street. 😉

That first photograph is awesome .... and I must confess to my mind it calls me to walk !!! As regards those mirrors there are many here in Italy as well... methinks also due to the narrow roads, but also the roads intersect at weird angles ... not the common 90 degree right angle where both sides are visible. We have taken many a distorted selfie in these.

Those selfies in the mirror can be cool hahaha. I made one photo but I was too small in the reflection
I called myself minipiano 😂

I really like the quaintness of Spain. A future holiday destination for sure :)

You would not regret choosing Spain as a holiday destination ;)

Of course not. I'd love to visit. Those fruit you picked on your walk looked pretty good lol. I had an England trip all payed for, even the car. Then cov came along and I couldn't go.

Oh no :(

Well, if England couldn't be done, Spain would maybe bring you more luck :D

And its warmer lol

I am sure you will not run away @cuddlekitten 🤗

I knew you wouldn't be scared 😁
