Memories of familiarity (a familiar feeling)

in Freewriters7 days ago

Hi there! Friends, today has provided us with yet another chance to voice our opinions within the freewriting community.

Notwithstanding my hectic schedule, I, as a free writer, will always want to set aside some time each day—oh, no, not every day, but whenever the opportunity arises during the day—to answer the prompt for each day. Alright, I'll cut the nonsense and get right to the point.

Everyone was moving up and down in a straightforward, repetitive manner, much like on a staircase. The sun shone brightly outside the corridor.
Everyone in the neighbourhood was working hard to build the school structure, which was on the verge of collapse if nothing was done.
The elderly members of the group were seated outside the building block. Some were observing, and orders were supervising from a distance.

One old capable man, standing erect on a bench and pounding to remove some old decaying wood boards used in the previous construction, paused for a moment; he drew a deep breath, held it for a while, and breathed a sigh of relief. He then spoke it aloud in front of practically everyone in the village, "Hmm, this is a familiar feeling." One person then inquired, "How familiar is it?" He remained there quietly for a while before replying merely, "I used to hold the position of a building contractor, but I am no longer."

Thank you for spending some time here.
