And I dreamed of you, with your skin and your warmth, I dreamed of the moments we spent together, that we had recovered the illusions of the promised future for both of us. I dreamed that life had not separated us, that a happy old age had taken us by surprise while we shared tea in our garden. I dreamed that I died in bed, peacefully, with a sigh, while you held my hand. I woke up, woke up and your side of the bed was empty, your vinyl records were not there, nor your clothes in the closet, nor your cup on the kitchen table, your books had disappeared and only mine were left. It took me a while to remember, remember that you were no longer there, that you would not return. I crawled back into bed and covered myself with the sheets, wishing to dream of you again. It was an illusion to have you and it's an illusion that you will return, a nice illusion.
Y soñé contigo, con tu piel y tu calor, soñé con los momentos que pasamos juntos, con que habíamos recobrado las ilusiones del futuro prometido para ambos. Soñé que la vida no nos había alejado, que una feliz vejez nos había tomado por sorpresa mientras compartíamos el té en nuestro jardín. Soñé que moría en la cama tranquilo, en un suspiro, mientras tú sostenías mi mano. Desperté, desperté y tu lado de la cama estaba vacío, no estaban tus discos de vinilo, ni tu ropa en el armario, ni tu taza en la mesa de la cocina, tus libros habían desaparecido y solo estaban los míos. Demoré en recordar, recordar que ya no estabas, que no regresarás. Regresé arrastrándome a la cama y me cubrí con las sábanas deseando volver a soñarte, fue una ilusión tenerte y es una ilusión que regreses, una buena ilusión.
