Giftings and talents: Not to scale
We are all gifted differently and uniquely. We can't have the same talents( I means in measurements ).
A popular scholar once said, if you will judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, then it would spend its whole life believing that he is a failure. I want to talk about something I regard very important and I hope that someone will pick up a challenge.
We should live our lives, "NOT-TO-SCALE" it, not to measure it. Not to compare with another. Your giftings are different from theirs.
Enjoy your productivity, do not scale it with others. Do not measure!! A little deviation from others may seem off but that is your uniqueness and strength, build it, do not be ashamed of it.
The most painful part of life is MAKING OTHER PEOPLE'S LIFE BECOME YOUR SCALE. Yes, some people are never confident. Always weighed down by: "What will people say?" . Some people never want to try something new, innovative and provocative. Scared of provoking people, nooo. Learn to live!!! NOT-TO-SCALE!!!
And to one servant the master gave 5 talents, to another he gave 3 and to the last one he gave 1 talent. This is coined from a popular parable in the Bible. The last servant did not live but SCALED. He wanted the talent to be SCALED and give in same measures. Called himself the least and he ended up being chased out and cursed.
Dangers of not living out your potential, but scaling is that you will always believe that you are a failure, you will never look beyond your small circle. Never feeling enough and always wanting to hear words of validation from others. It's called potential because that is what is there, nothing more. Potentials are never duplicated!!
Now I want to say that the expectations from each of them was the same but not-to-scale. Productivity was expected but not the same. It was according to the measure given. Productivity may be expected from me, a musician and you a farmer; but not-to-scale, this means different streams. It is even possible to have two streams of expectations from two farmers of the same crops.
Life is vast, life is big, life is never identical for two people. Be that man you are made to be not-to-scale!!!! Explore your inner self and appreciate your uniqueness. Enjoy your own formation and not despise it. Your potential carves out a niche for you and places you there. Ever heard of the phrase: Everyone is a king on his own lane ..? Yes, that is want I am talking about. LIVE!!!NOT-TO-SCALE
