Getting back into the swing of things! Decided to be a bit more forgiving to myself and set a timer instead of using an app that deletes your progress if you stop typing. Granted I'm more prone to stop and think for longer than I ought, I'm still finding myself going for too much exposition, trying too long to establish mood and setting when I have such limited time. Maybe a first person perspective, so that I have to describe things from the view of someone who doesn't need every little thing explained?Food for thought.

Among the vast mountains of refuse, a man in tattered clothing was slowly making his way up the side of the tallest. A pair of metal stilts helped carry him up; as walking along the ground meant risking jagged metal or glass in any footstep. It had been days climbing up this particular heap, and he needed to find a good vantage point to scout out any potential finds nearby.
There were no ruins to be seen, only the outlines of buildings now buried beneath landfills that stretched across the horizon and into the sky like decaying pillars.
When he finally reached the top, his world lit only by what dim light could break through the thick clouds of pollutants and smoke above, his eyes eventually landed on an unfamiliar structure in the distance, groaning and rumbling as it seemed to come closer with each moment.
Climbing to the top seeking for opportunities whatever the circumstances in this harsh world. Looking for growth and development 🥹, it's so me 😥
For those who persevere and know where to look, even the wasteland can be filled with treasures.
