Locked out of my account is a good representation of an account lost. It means someone else now has access to the account and definitely all your information in the account. When things like this happens, their first step is to change the password so you would not have access to the account.
There has been many attempt to steal my account, especially the web2 accounts. All their attempts has failed. I made use of the 2 step verification code to secure my account. So whenever they attempt to login to my account, I get a code in which they do not have access to. I laugh anytime I notice the scheme to steal my account.
We should be careful how we handle our account and who we share our details with, they might be interested in your account too. Locking you out of your account means you lose everything in the account and you have to start afresh, that's stressful. The more reason we have to be security conscious.
