Now It's time for some horribel science fiction

Really, Really Bad Sci Fi

"No you don't understand. I'm saying they can send you into the Blockchain."

"Wait, you mean like Tron?"

"... have they done this too? Damn I hate TRX."

"No! You idiot, the movie! Stop it with the crypto all the bloody time."

That made me laugh.

"Hah! You'll see. Yeah I suppose kinda' like Tron now that you mention it."

He paused and looked at me with that patent disbelief.

"You'll believe anything anyone says as long as it has a whitepaper or a .io after it, won't you?"

"You know what, Tom? You sound like the people from this metaphor called 'Plato's Cave."

This time he laughed.

"Boy you're up yourself. So tell me then, tell me about this 'mystical Tron' like project where they can 'send you into the Blockchain' or whatever that means."

Tom sat himself on a downed log and readied himself for my pitch.

"So you know that Elon Musk brain chip thing, the Neuralink?"

"Yeah." Tom's expression was flat.

"Well using that, this other company has developed this software that allows you to tokenize your actual consciousness to where it can be represented on a public ledger."

He looked at me in that same stunned-mullet look he had every time I explained a new project to him.

"So.. using the brain chip you can ... make a mind crypto, what?"

"No, well, yes, well... kinda. The way it works is that the developers purchased hundreds of thousands of graphical and audiovisual assets from a bunch of different gaming companies."

Tom raised an eyebrow as if to say 'go on'.

"Well, using RNG mechanics from games like Minecraft or even PUBG, the software is able to render representations of the Interledger world. Let's say you spend yourself over to the Ethereum Blockchain, well the Neuralink might represent that as a vast kingdom or a dungeon, or whatever, it's random.

Tom blinked in disbelief again.

"So that's like the book 'Ready Player One'?"

"NO! Well... yes, I think. You get to choose your avatar, and you can see representations of transactions and movements of coins as well."

"Why the hell would someone want to do this, what's the point of it?"

I went to respond before he continued.

"It's like a really, really bad sci fi novel. Like, what happens to your body when you're in the blockchain? Do you just starve then? That's like the movie 'Surrogates' with Bruce Willis."

"What's wrong with that?"

"I hated all of those movies."

"What about the Matrix?"

"Stupi--- Actually wait a minute. Can this thing make me learn Kung Fu?"

Thank you for reading

This one took me longer than usual. I started with the normal 5 minutes and really likes the premise so I fleshed it out. I must have written this 4 times in as many ways. Don't know why I wrote it so many times, maybe I just didn't like the feel or flow.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little sojourn into my little realm of madness.

Have a great day and stay safe!
