They met at a popular location somewhere in Lagos State, Nigeria. They had a conversation, and before he knew it, everything moved to WhatsApp. Their conversations continued there, and that was how their love journey started—it all just clicked.
In less than a few months, Rose started coming to David's house and began helping him with one or two things. Before he knew it, he started investing in Rose. She, in turn, supported him in building his cinematography career alongside a hardworking friend.
According to the Nigerian cultural system, what every man wants from a woman is peace of mind. A man will go to great lengths to settle down with a woman who has good character and a patient heart. Being a creative person, David didn’t want a lady who would give him headaches—he already had enough stress from his creative work and dealing with clients.
Less than a month into the relationship, Rose started making financial demands. First, she asked for money to buy Indian hair that cost almost $1,000. Then, she requested nearly ₦500,000 to travel to his village and greet his mother.
Soon, the demands became more frequent. When David refused, saying he was no longer interested, Rose insisted that they needed to "discuss everything." Confused, David asked, "Discuss what?"
Eventually, David realized he couldn’t tolerate the situation any longer and started looking for a way to end things.
One day, he was supposed to go to a shoot, so he left Rose in his room and said goodbye. However, unknown to her, he was still nearby. Suddenly, Rose received a call while inside his room and quickly ran out—it was from another man she was dating.
It turned out that Rose and this other man had been working together to exploit David financially. Their plan was to milk him dry and eventually run away with whatever they could get.
That day, Rose was in David’s room, chatting with his neighbor when the neighbor overheard something suspicious. Sensing foul play, the neighbor called David and told him to come and listen. That was how all the secrets were exposed—David finally discovered the truth.
In my country, when something like this happens, it’s an instant send-off. David immediately told Rose that he was no longer interested,
rose responded
"we can discuss this more"and that was the end of their relationship.
The lesson here? Faithfulness in a relationship matters a lot. As a man, you must be wise and aware of what’s happening around you. Never be blinded by love—always keep one eye open while pretending not to notice, so you can uncover hidden truths before it’s too late.
