NORTHERN PART OF NIGERIA STORY OF STRUGGLES AND SURVIVAL

The sun still rises in the northern part of Nigeria,
But the streets are empty, the land is in fear.
Farms have turned to ashes and dust,
Dreams are broken, left to rust.
The children ask, “Where is our home?”
But there is no place, nowhere to roam.
The rivers that once gave us life,
Now run red with sorrow and strife.
And the master cried, with hands held high,
“The Other North, tell me why?
Why have you chosen the path of pain,
Leaving only graves in the rain?”
“The Other North, why do you hate?
Why do you darken a child’s fate?
Even the ones too small to speak,
You strike them down, you make them weak.”
“The Other North, this is not right,
This is not Allah’s guiding light.
You twist His name, you break His laws,
You turn His mercy into claws.”
“The Other North, do you not fear?
Do you not hear the cries so near?
The heavens weep, the angels sigh,
For every soul that you let die.”
But The Other North stood still and cold,
Their hearts like iron, their hands so bold.
And as they left with fire and pain,
The northern part of Nigeria wept again.
