When Ella was sitting in court she accommodated her trembling hands on her lap. The attorney's words repeated inside her head bringing forward implications she couldn't shut out. Testifying could free an innocent person from jail yet she would need to show her most devastating truth to the world. When the prosecutor announced her name she paused because multiple risks felt equally dangerous. Silence would result in a brutal outcome for the accused defendant even though admitting the truth would trigger aches taints threatening to destroy her whole identity. She rose to her feet keeping her voice strong despite her nerves. "I have something to say." A complete quietness engulfed the entire courtroom when she stepped forward. That moment was demonstrated and understanding to observation in the future, that effect of her actions demanded.
