The Templars, whose full name is the Order of the Poor Companions of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon, emerged in the 12th century with the goal of protecting Christian pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land. What stands out, dear reader, is that since their creation in 1119, the Knights Templar were distinguished not only by their fervor in the pursuit of good but also by their skill on the battlefield. "Nos, Domine, no nos, si nomini tui da honor," encapsulated their spirit of dedication and sacrifice.

The order had an impressive hierarchical structure for its time, which included fortifications as well as supply routes. In warfare, they were a compact and coordinated unit, emblematic of Hattin in 1187 and Arsuf in 1191, demonstrating their courage and strategic cunning, employing strategies such as the creation of "wedges" and devastating cavalry charges.

Despite this, they were disbanded in 1312 due to pressure from the French king Philip IV and Pope Clement V. It was disbanded on charges of heresy and other crimes. Despite all this, their legacy lives on in popular memory and in the history of warfare; the Knights Templar, as guardians of the faith, left behind a legacy of courage and fervor. What fascinates me about their history is a testament to courage, as well as the devotion that can transcend time and become an inspiration for future generations.
