Idara is a widow and hardworking mother of two, Eda and Ada. She lost her husband years back to beast attack when he went for hunting in the neighboring mountain village. Eda is 18 and 2 years older than Ada. Idara works hard as a fresh fish trader to feed her children. Eda rares sheep while Ada loves gardening and she also had dreams of studying to become a certified herbalist. She put so much effort into her gardening and sell herbs to people in the village.
There lived a prince in the neighboring mountain village with his ill father, the king. The king had been ill for quite a while but no one in the village could provide a cure for his ailment.
One day, the prince went out to the stream to refresh under his favorite tree, this was his perfect place to cool off and relax. Ada was coming back from her daily hawking and distribution of herbs to the villagers. She was thirsty and wanted to branch at the stream to fetch water for herself to drink. She got to the stream, set aside her remaining medicine and bent down to get water to drink. She was not aware of the prince's presence. The prince saw her since she got to the stream, but didn't make any move until his eyes caught the medicine Ada dropped, he stood up and walk towards it to check , it was only then that Ada noticed she was not alone. When she saw that it was the prince, she greeted him with respect. The prince answered nicely and asked about the medicine, she narrated everything about her medicine and that all the ingredients used came from her little garden. The prince then told her about his father's ailment and Ada told the prince she has something that could help heal the King in her garden. The prince was ready to try anything to heal his father so he followed Ada home to get the herbs. Ada gave him a single leaf and instructed him to squeeze the sap into the king's mouth. He rushed back to the place and did exactly as he was instructed by Ada. The King slowly drifted to sleep and didn't wake up until after 48 hours. Everyone was already panicking and Ada has been held captive by the chiefs, the prince tried to plead and set her free but there was nothing he could do. After 48 hours, the king woke up healthy and looking younger. Everyone was surprised. The King asked about the herb and the prince told him everything about it. Immediately, he ordered for Ada to be set free, and brought to the palace. They did as the king commanded and he asked Ada to name anything she want in the whole world as a reward for what she has done. She told the king she would like to study herbalism to become a certified herbalist. The king was very impressed and granted her request without thinking twice, he also sent gifts to her mother and brother. It was a dream come true for Ada.
