"Is the surgeon not here yet?" A man who seemed to be in great pain asked the nurse.

"Please try to endure a little longer," the nurse replied. "He should be here any minute now."

Hearing the nurse's reply, Joseph could only grit his teeth as he endure the pain of his ruptured appendix.

While he was working on the field earlier, Joseph suddenly felt extreme pain in his abdomen to the point that his co-worker had to rush him to the nearest hospital.

After a thorough check-up, it was revealed that his appendix had ruptured and needed to be surgically removed. But although Joseph's situation was urgent, he had to wait while enduring great pain as there's no surgeon present at the hospital he was rushed to at the moment.

The hospital had already called their gastrointestinal specialist but it'll take him about an hour to get to there, as such, the current situation.

While Joseph was enduring the pain, a male nurse suddenly entered the room and announced that the surgeon had arrived.

"He's here!" He announced.

Soon Joseph was rushed to the emergency room for his appendectomy. An hour later, Joseph was transferred to one of the room at the hospital.

"Thank you, doctor," Joseph said to the surgeon that performed appendectomy on him with gratitude.

"Don't worry about, It's my job," answered the surgeon. "On the contrary, I apologized with having made you wait."

Joseph shook his head and told the surgeon that he was not at fault. Instead, he was to blame for not getting his inflamed appendix surgically removed despite knowing about it for some time now.

"Well, I have certainly learned my lesson." said Joseph with a grin on his face. "From now on, I won't wait if I felt anything wrong with my body."

"That's good to know," the surgeon smiled.

Joseph began to take his health seriously after that and made it a point to have regular health check-ups.

That is certainly a painful mistake and a very valuable lesson.

Agreed, Joseph shouldn't have ignored the his appendicitis and had it removed before it got worse. Thanks for dropping by.
