RE: Legion train, history of Czechoslovak legionnaires' battles 1914 - 1920 in Russia / Legiovlak, historie bojů československých legionářů 1914 - 1920 v Rusku
The wagons are on the original chassis, but the bodies are mostly replicas, only one wagon took part in the fighting as it is the workshop/repair one, the equipment is period. The whole train is mainly to draw attention to the great contribution of the Czechoslovak legions to the recognition of independent Czechoslovakia. Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire for centuries. We gained our independence only with the end of World War I. Thanks to our legionnaires who took part in the battles on the Italian and Russian fronts. The most famous is their participation in the Battle of Zborov on July 1-2, 1917.
