That is a really beautiful colony!
Happy Fungfriday :)

It was pretty exciting. I've never found oysters in such large numbers before. 🤗

Wow what a bloom. How will you cook them?

Most of the shrooms I just saute in butter with salt and pepper. Then I keep them in the refrigerator in plastic containers to add to sauce or omelets or whatever. I even use them instead of adding meat to sandwiches of wraps.

But I got very tired of cooking :/ I came on a blogger saying he dries them and puts them in mason jars. So I'm drying some to see what happens.

Yeah I've been drying all the chanterelles I've been finding and putting them into a mason jar for winter. For oysters I usually do asian style stir fries.

Yeah, I do a lot of stir fries, probably just my own style stir fries. The oysters are very versatile.
I just find cooking them ahead is a good way to preserve them, as well as making it more convenient when I'm throwing them in a dish.

you needed two bigger bags,

indeed. lucky find! sadly we dont have anything even near close to this luxury. a great Fungi Friday you had. cheers!

Well hopefully you will soon, before summers all gone!

The mushrooms are definitely rampant around these parts this season, but last year I found almost nothing all summer. We had a cold rainy spring (sound familiar?) and then the heat came and the rain all dried up. No shrooms either spring or summer. It wasn't till almost winter that I found oysters repeatedly and enokis a couple times as well.

You never know when it will turn around. Meanwhile I wish I could send the extra bag to your fallout bunker:) I sure have them to spare!

yes, rainy cold summer -- sounds very familiar. we had some period of very hot sunny days without rains, (and thanks godwe have it!) but then nature started to balance it and still can not stop, going rounds and rounds and rounds - when one rain stops, soon another one starts.

I didnt get the joke about sending me the extra bags :P
sorry!

you needed two bigger bags

I wished I could send you one of the bags of oysters:)
