I have become less enthusiastic about saving in Japanese yen over the past few years, and plan to continue accumulating assets in 2025, mainly in cryptocurrencies and stocks.

Image generated by Leonard.ai

As for cryptocurrencies, I plan to increase my $BTC and $HIVE balances, and as for stocks, I will only buy them under tax incentive programs such as iDeCo and NISA. I will write them down in Hive so that I can look back at them from time to time, because I forget them as soon as I make a plan.

Cryptocurrencies

I have lost interest in cryptocurrencies except for $BTC and $HIVE 😅I still hold a small amount of $ETH, but it will eventually be destined to be replaced by $BTC or $HIVE.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin makes up the bulk of my cryptocurrency portfolio. I had the full amount on an exchange for a while, but last year I willingly transferred it to a hardware wallet. This bitcoin is for long-term storage.

In addition to that, last summer I started buying bitcoin in small amounts on the Japanese CEX. I came up with the idea of buying gold ETFs and bitcoin with points that I could earn by shopping, viewing ads, answering surveys, etc. I stuck with it and named it the "W Gold Plan". However, I gave up trying to fund my investments with points because I felt it took up too much of my time. Currently, I am funding the project from my part-time income.

I started buying (and storing) bitcoins at CEX because I wanted to be prepared for the risk of losing my seed phrases. I wanted to diversify my storage because it would be too much of a shock if I lost all my money due to the loss of the seed phrases. However, the amount stored at the exchange is less than 100,000 yen, which is still not enough to diversify risk. In the future, if I can diversify my risk by gradually converting yen into bitcoin, ...... I hope to do so.

HIVE

Last year I spent quite a bit of time working on the Hive chain, but for that I did not post as many articles from my personal account and therefore did not receive as many rewards... and my HP growth was also slow. This year I would like to post a little more frequently and build up my HP.

But strategically aiming for high rewards is difficult for me, and I run out of breath trying to do it. I know from experience that it won't last! My policy is to write what I want and enjoy interacting with other Hivers. So I don't set any numerical goals for my HP... I will just declare that I am aiming to become an Orca in the future!

Usage of Author and Curation Rewards

I have decided on a basic policy for how to use my rewards.

First, I will not power down the HP earned from curation and author rewards this year, but will continue to save it. ...unless I really need Japanese yen for my daily life and have to withdraw it.

And since I want to accelerate the growth of HP even more, I'm going to power up by converting some of the $HBD from my rewards into $HIVE. To be more specific, I'm thinking of splitting the $HBD earned as author rewards at the end of each month into three parts, each to be used as follows.

-Power up by converting to $HIVE
-Convert to $BTC on the Lightning Network via v4v
-Leave in HIVE WALLET for use on the HIVE chain

If I power up all of my rewards, I may not be able to keep my mentality when the $HIVE price crashes. So I'm going to convert only a portion of it to bitcoin. I will also need liquid $HIVE to distribute rewards within my community and to purchase NFTs, so I will also keep that in advance at the end of each month from author rewards.

More details will be reported in the monthly Power Up Day.

iDeCo and NISA

As for cryptocurrencies, I plan to only gradually increase my balance, mainly in $HIVE and $BTC. This is because the Japanese tax system is too complicated to calculate profit and loss. This year, I plan to reduce my cryptocurrency trading as much as possible to reduce the calculation burden, and focus more on iDeCo and NISA, which have preferential tax treatment.

iDeCo (Individual-type Defined Contribution Pension Plan):
A Japanese retirement savings plan that allows individuals to make tax-deductible contributions. The invested funds grow tax-free, and taxes are deferred until withdrawal after retirement.

NISA (Nippon Individual Savings Account):
A Japanese tax-free investment account designed to encourage personal investing. Gains from stocks, mutual funds, and dividends are tax-exempt up to a certain annual limit.

Regarding iDeCo, I have been contributing 20,000 yen (approximately $135) per month for the past few years to purchase an index fund (worldwide stocks). In my case, the maximum contribution is 23,000 yen, so I can increase it by another 3,000 yen (approximately $20), but I am still considering what to do.

My current policy regarding NISA is not set in stone and is somewhat lax. 18 million yen is the lifetime investment limit for NISA. It is said that it's a good idea to fill up the quota as soon as possible among the "stock clusters". However, I don't have the ability to do so, so I will have to take my time to fill it up... (I don't think I can fill it up in the first place😢).

Since I prioritize my iDeCo, I only deposited money into my NISA when I had extra money. However, that didn't increase my asset balance at all, so I set just one goal for this year. That is to buy shares of AEON! AEON is a major Japanese retail group that operates shopping malls, supermarkets, and convenience stores. It is known for its wide range of products, from groceries to household goods, and has a strong presence both in Japan and across Asia.

Although the dividend on AEON stock is not very high, the “Owner's Card” is an attractive shareholder benefit. If you present this “Owner's Card” when shopping at AEON or AEON-affiliated stores, you can receive cash back based on the amount of your purchases once every six months. As I shop at AEON-affiliated supermarkets almost every day, this “ Magic Card” is an item I want at any cost!

The current price of AEON's stock is approximately 3,700 yen (approximately $25). To receive the special benefit, 100 shares (about 370,000 yen = approximately $2,500) are required. Hmmm, my part-time salary may not be enough. I plan to quit my food delivery job this year, but I will quit after buying 100 shares of AEON stock?

Conclusion

These are my plans for this year regarding money. Let's see what I can report at the end of the year... I will do my best to write that my assets have increased 💪

画像はLeonard.aiで生成しました

HIVE

Good plan. I am adding physical gold and silver to mine. I basically only own BTC and HIVE as far a crypto goes.

In the USA I use Lolli to get bitcoin back on purchases. I mainly use it when I book travel, but it does add up. I'm not sure if there is an equivalent in Japan, but I'm sure there is.

I had never considered investing in silver! I'll look into it, thanks.

The only service I know of that offers bitcoin cash back is the bitFlyer credit card. I don't have one... I used to have a lot of different coins a few years ago, but now it's pretty simple😎

The nice thing about silver is it's easier to casually buy because of it's price. Although I remember getting paid in gold gram bars at my local pachinko! That was easy too!

Silver should be around $50 an oz.

Oh, do you go to pachinko?!😁😁😁
Many pachinko users will not be interested in investing in gold, so they cash it in right away at the exchange. But would they be richer if they kept it instead... I don't know.

Silver investment sounds like a good idea, I will look into it.

I only went to our local pachinko place with my wife once about 8 years ago. It was fun, but I wish we would have kept the 1 gram gold bar instead of taking it to the TUC shop!

It seems to me that you have a good plan, I hope I could save, but I receive donations in BTC in my Binance account 😂

Receiving donations in BTC sounds interesting... that's another unique way to accumulate Bitcoin😄

Yes!, you can send me 1 btc 😂

Speaking seriously, I would like to learn how to pay with Hive using V4app, because I still don't know. That is, I know how to use the app but I don't understand how I can receive BTC in my Hive account using the V4app? . Do you know how to do it? If you can explain to me or tell me about a tutorial I thank you.

I don't have 1BTC either😂

Do you want to deposit BTC into your Hive account using v4v (i.e. buy HIVE with BTC)? Or do you want to convert HIVE or HBD into BTC? I have done the latter.
It will be tomorrow, but I’ll try to find a tutorial.

Do you want to deposit BTC into your Hive account using v4v (i.e. buy HIVE with BTC)

This one, i want for example receive btc from one donation on japan, or spain, so how the other person that have a btc wallet can send to my hive account the btc?, and how can i receive it using v4app?. I read that they mention using lightning chain, but i dont know if i have to make a new lightning wallet or how to vinculate it to my hive account.

I appreciate your help very much, I have always had this doubt, several people have wanted to send me portions of BTC, but I have not been able to receive them because I do not know how to explain and use V4App to tell them what they should do.

https://v4v.app/

I just tried to transfer BTC from my Lightning wallet to my Hive account using v4v.app. I think it is very easy to transfer money from any wallet that has a Lightning address available.

Give the sender your v4v.app Lightning address.
[email protected]

When they send the money, your v4v.app will be credited with sats, and you can convert it to HIVE or HBD in the “CONVERT” tab.

You do not need to create a new Lightning Wallet, as 4v4.app will serve as your Lightning Wallet.

I made a test money transfer to your v4v. If I understand it correctly, you received it... check it out.!

P.S. The amount received might be 999sats or 998sats because of a small fee.

Here are the questions, where can I see if I have received it?, Because when I enter https://v4v.app/hive I only get the amounts I have in HBD and Hive.

Help me understand please

Wow, very interesting insights. Thanks for sharing! I have quite similar plans. Concentrate on BTC and HIVE and do DCA into my stock portfolio.
Regarding status here, my Midterm goal is to become a „double dolphin“ which would be around 12k HP. Hope to achieve that this year. Longterm Orca would be awesome but I take it step by step.

Fingers crossed for your plans and good luck!

Thomas

I never had the concept of a “double dolphin.” I like that! I'll go for that first as well.

You always seem calm about investments. I'm better than I was a few years ago, but I'm still easily upset by spikes and crashes, so I need to work on my mentality🫡🫡🫡

😉🐬🐬👍🏻

This is good plan kyo. Let the money work for you and earn for you ~. For me I'm basically all in crypto now D:

I too think investing in crypto is the hottest right now!
Too bad the tax system is too unfavorable in Japan🤮

o.o maybe you can try changing it to giftcards. will they know haha

Seems to be all bitcoin this bullrun while alts have lagged behind.
!BBH

I used to invest in several altcoins a few years ago, but I got tired of it😅
All I need is HIVE and BTC!

I'm also reducing my L2 tokens. It's just too many.

That's right. There are some L2 tokens that I bought myself, but there are some that I've accumulated without even knowing it. I have decided to convert those to HIVE from time to time.

My policy is to write what I want and enjoy interacting with other Hivers. So I don't set any numerical goals for my HP...
👍

It seems to me a good money plan; here too it is clear that saving euros means losing purchasing power. I have some investments, but I have never made such a detailed savings plan. I wish you that all your plans will be fulfilled.

Best regards

here too it is clear that saving euros means losing purchasing power.

Over the past few years, the Japanese yen has been rapidly losing value. I am surprised as I did not know that the same is true for the Euro.

Hive's price fluctuates a lot, probably because the market is still small, but I like the concept of the platform and the people here, so I want to invest regularly🥰

I have a slight notion of the value of the Euro € in relation to other currencies from travel. For example, compared to the Swiss franc it has lost value, however compared to the Swedish krona it has gained value. What I was referring to is that inflation eats away at its value. To have uninvested euros is to lose money. About our Hive, this year I bought some currency to support the project. The truth is that I feel very comfortable here.

Best regards.

STEPN/STEPN GO → HP、BCTかな。
