Start to make the threadcast an epicenter for Nigerians, a place where they will return. For example, maybe place some nigerian news in there so they start to get the idea they can use it as a reference place.
Ask a lot of questions that people can engage with. Bring up relevant topics that people can express their concerns about.
Post pictures of local activities. Bring stuff up that isnt commonly found out there.
Basically post anything that has to do with nigeria.
You can even quickly fill it up by going into the news threadcast by @luchyl and copy the links for some of the news in there. Some of it is nigerian based.
Get videos up there about nigeria. Shorts and things like that can be popular. Just go to YouTube and grab some (use the share feature to make it work).

depends on what part of Canada, where I live the average winter is around -4 or -5 C. Night time can get colder, we only usually have a week or so in the -10s to -20s.
