What a show :)
Honored and super excited to welcome back @blocktrades to the podcast this week!
In this episode, we dove into the upcoming hardfork and what to expect when it rolls out.
We also took a deeper look into the HAF (Hive Application Framework) and all the amazing aspects of this new tech that's being developed to roll around around the same time as the hard fork!
Tons of great info and we hope you really enjoy the show!

It was a great show. I feel like Jon was kind of silent for most of the show and it was a show by task and blocktrades. The HAF and HBD talk was great.

Man, when these guys start talking tech, I just smile and nod lol My 'apple fan boy technical ability' is just shameful lol
I hope blocktrades accept BUSD as a stablecoin because we often want to work with Binance, CUB and Leo and having the option to transfer HBD to BUSD would be a good deal in blocktrades. Great Episode as usual :)
That would be a cool little bridge for sure!
Way over my head as a noob with less than 1 year in crypto and only having any clue about Hive for about half that time. So, with a grain of salt, I would love to see the strengths of Hive kept: fee-free innovative environment, mostly of people who are looking to build community and help each other. The biggest weakness seems to be complexity of keys and onboarding. Not sure if simplification there would cause problems with security or reverse compatability tho. A big question for me is how to grow the user base of Hive without destroying the "in it together community" vibe. Hive seems to be quite social and reputation based which diminishes potential mass adoption currency uses, but is the heart and soul of why new projects attract so much support. Maybe there can be a financial Hive token that stands apart from the community token?

People understand 'i forgot my password'....But give them account keys and tell them to save them, things get lost lol
It's really adoption meaning the more people make this an every day community, the easier it will get. I think things like Hive Auth will really help onboard others!
Also, it feels like different sites use different terms for different keys and then my brain breaks haha. I do love Hive now, it feels like my main crypto contact point. The thing I like best is that if you see a new project on BSC, Sol, Eth or Wax you think "I will get scammed" - if you see a new project on Hive, you can still think "this could be cool!"
I'm thankful for Hive Keychain for that....Once I understood what each key does, it got easier, but it's a learning curve for sure
I don't have the technical knowledge to understand all of it but I enjoyed the show. Very interesting talk that made me realize that I still have a LOT to learn on this blockchain.
Never stop learning! I've been here since 2017 and still learning new things almost daily!
Now this was a good one! Rewatching it again for the nuggets!!!
Awesome man, glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, so much information. My head hurts a little, but totally worth it. Probably have to listen to this again later.
Indeed! Most of the time I just smile and nodded but Blocktrades has a skill to break things down so that every day people can understand it. Appreciate that very much!
Awesome interview Jon! A bit deep, lol but very interesting.
Ya man, I'm so grateful that they are developing things that let every day people actually use this stuff....Not the same around other blockchain projects!
I'm building cool stuff and just turned on this (listening with @v4vapp turned on of course!)
And I want my BADGE!!!!
https://curiocaster.com/podcast/pi4086233
LOL I promise!!! I'll get this sorted out and send the badges out to everyone!!! lol
Another great show! Just when I think we're going to "get" somewhere and now everything can take off, @blocktrades starts talking about the next project and the timer starts all over again. lol Now we've got to wait another year for smart contracts and reputation systems?!? :p
Truly though, the amazing thing is what is going on around us as we're waiting. Each piece added adds another layer of development branching out in all sorts of directions. This place is almost unrecognizable from what it was a year ago. With HAF being released in a couple months, I can imagine that come this time next year, HIVE will have undergone another major level of transformation.
Brick by brick this place continues to build into one of the most incredible blockchains in existence. With devs like this and others you've had on the show, our future is very, very bright. I'm very happy to be a part of it. Even if it's only watching Jon sit silently for an hour. lol

HE (Blocktrades) is looking to develop his own layer 2 solutions. Before that can happen, things needed to get to the point where the base layer was in order. He feels they are approaching on that. HAF is a big piece of the puzzle it seems.
There will always be code changes at the base layer but it seems like they are closing in on the heavy lifting being done. That is a huge step forward.
No, I get it. You walked us tech-less people through it very well. I'm just commenting on the fact that there's always another big piece coming. Which is a VERY GOOD THING! It's just seems like there's always another even bigger and better shiny new toy around the corner.
Like I said above, what is really amazing is how much progress is actually being made around us while we're waiting for those new toys. The things getting completed and implemented are having gigantic impacts on the whole ecosystem and sometimes it's hard to see it from inside.
Great interview as always! Can't wait to see what HAF brings to the table.

ha ha ha ha I suck!
I just needed to let Task and Blocktrades get into what they know best. I'm just the Geico Gecko and sometimes dance on camera!
Hey, I'm not knocking you. I'm always amazed by how insightful Task is with the questions he asks. I wouldn't have anything to add either. I just find it amusing that you start everything off, say a few words, and then...zip...just lawn furniture the rest of the way. lol You should at least get some charts or something you can hold up each week. New HIVE accounts or Active users on Splinterlands or something. Or even track the prices of 10 key cards on Splinterlands and display the updated prices each week.
Like I said, I have NO complaints. You guys do an awesome job! I just like poking fun a little...

lolol oh nah nah, didn't take it as a knock at all :)
Awesome show guys! Blocktrades is a mine of information and is great to have him on the podcast every once in a while.
Agreed....So awesome that he stops by and shares his adventures with us :)
interesting topic you talked about and welcome back to podcast @blocktrades
Honored to have him stop by again :)
I understood some of what you were saying. I still consider myself fairly ignorant when it comes to understanding crypto and the blockchain. I keep reading and listening. Hopefully, I'll get there someday.
I've been doing this stuff for years now and still don't understand most of it LOL Thankfully on Hive, we can 'use it' and that's such a blessing!
I enjoyed it, good one, great show.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Okay so I don't have to understand the underlying tech but I get the point. HAF makes a dev's life easier to build applications on Hive. Lots of exciting stuff coming up. Layer-2 solution. That's interesting!

Yup!! Exactly! Allows for them to create and develop in a familiar programming language.
Wow, this is very interesting , I really enjoyed.
Glad to hear it!
really great conversation, Thanks!
Appreciate you tuning in!
This fun to watch..it was amazing podcast
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Keep it up bro..
