Eating healthy on the road is hard...But I managed to find a fantastic little restaurant here that has some great salad options. Everything else....Fried food and burgers.

Sort:

Yes, welcome to America. Even the salad is fed first instead of the healthier way with your meal. They don't even leave in a the bugs! May make sense for the humans though. Bon Appetit!

lol the salad was good...but rare to find this kind of cuisine on the road lol

That's good. "Highway food" tends to be of the "fast food" kind. Maybe venture off the main drag a bit into some town or city if time permits where you may find a better selection.

Unfortunatly, trucks are restricted to specific roads and areas, making finding better options difficult. And depending on 'where' you are, you don't want to be walking around! Could be hazardous to your health!

If burgers are all there is, I will go bunless. You just have to remember to ask for utensils to avoid eating like a savage.

Fat gets a bad rep, but it has essential vitamins and your body needs it, especially the brain.

Yeah I dont watch the fat per se, more of the carbs for me. I keep those down big time, being a diabetic too, it helps my blood sugar.

Same and I've been on and off the keto diet for the last year and feel my best when following it.

oh it's been fantastic for me. i dont 'miss' rice / potatoes at all. found some really good keto bread, blood sugar has been perfect since.

Yeah, I just make all my own breads, mostly flatbreads and sweet snacks. Buying them from the store is way too expensive and I can eat all the cheesecake I want.
