Recently I took on the challenge of managing the new YouTube page of a content creator. Their new page only had around 350 followers, was lacking traction and didn't have any videos with over 100 views when I started managing it around 30+ days ago.
In one month's time we have doubled the follower count, released a vid that got 10k+ views, and have exponentially increased view time.
Having NO previous experience with YouTube I'm happy with the results we achieved so far. By default I've leveled up a lot of my design/media skills and looking forward to bringing them on chain. Now that the YT page is established you can expect this creator on InLEO real soon.

I forgot to power up on 6th day. I don't know why I forget it. As a punishment now I powered up 50 HIVE for the whole month. Sometimes punishment is good at least in this case as I am powering up more for it.

Spam bots have been around for years. The advantage is that Leo can have those accounts how show. It is still written to chain and in a block explorer but not on Leo.

The big picture: The US is committed to establishing semiconductor manufacturing within its borders, and perhaps no effort is more crucial to this goal than TSMC's three-fab facility in Arizona. The government is pouring billions into the development, alongside TSMC's $65 billion investment.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. has reached a significant milestone in its expansion into the US. Recent trial production at the company's new Arizona facility has yielded results comparable to those of its established plants in Taiwan, according to Bloomberg, which cited a person familiar with the company who requested anonymity. This development is a positive sign for the chipmaker's ambitious US project, which has faced delays and doubts about whether it could match the production efficiency of its Taiwanese operations.
The Arizona plant began engineering wafer production in April using advanced 4-nanometer process technology. With production yields now on par with its facilities in Tainan, Taiwan, TSMC should be able to maintain its targeted gross margin rates of 53 percent or higher.
TSMC has much at stake with its US operations. The company plans to invest $65 billion in three plants in Arizona, making it the largest foreign direct investment in Arizona history and the largest foreign direct investment in a greenfield project in US history.
Concurrently, the US government is providing substantial support through grants and loans. TSMC is set to receive up to $6.6 billion in grants and $5 billion in loans for its Arizona project.
TSMC's Arizona facility is on track to begin production at its first fab in the first half of 2025. The second fab, set to start production in 2028, will produce chips using 2nm process technology with next-generation nanosheet transistors, in addition to 3nm technology. The third fab will focus on 2nm or more advanced processes, with production expected to commence by the end of the decade.

Google is rolling out a new ChromeOS update that makes it easier to keep your on-screen apps organized, copy text from images, and adjust camera and microphone settings on Chromebook devices.
One of the more notable features introduced in ChromeOS 128 is Snap Groups — a feature similar to Windows 11’s Snap layouts that allows you to easily group apps together in a variety of fullscreen layouts. The feature is even triggered the same way as Microsoft does it, by hovering over the maximize app button.
The ChromeOS camera app now supports Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract text from captured images of letters or other documents. It allows users to copy or search the text in images, more easily convert images into searchable PDFs, and have the built-in ChromeOS screen reader speak image-based text. Google says its OCR supports both horizontal and vertical detection in 77 languages, and is disabled by default in photo mode.
Additionally, the Magnifier tool will now work with ChromeVox — allowing the screen magnifier to automatically follow words when text is read aloud, helping visually impaired users to keep their place. This is also disabled by default, and will require both Magnifier and ChromeVox to be enabled in the device settings.
Startups are struggling to stay compliant in the states they operate in. It's no wonder why, as states don't make it easy on them.
In 2022, Carta’s business license was revoked in Illinois for failing to pay franchise tax, a tax on national corporations doing business in the state, according to state records seen by TechCrunch. In 2024, Washington state terminated cap table software Pulley’s business license, according to state filings.
Carta spokesperson Amanda Taggart told TechCrunch that the company just missed the proper timeline to file its yearly report and pay the corresponding tax. Taggart added that the company has remedied the situation and is waiting on Illinois to return it to good standing. Yin Wu, the founder and CEO of Pulley, said that the company has filed the outstanding returns and is in the process of getting its license reinstated.
Startups like Carta and Pulley are definitely not alone in running afoul of state business rules. Plus, while these companies both had registered in these states as required and ran into issues later, many startups don’t begin the registration process in each state when they should at all.
When startups have employees in a state, conduct an acquisition or sign up customers there, they typically need to register in the state and maintain themselves in good standing. That includes paying their state taxes and fees on an ongoing basis, Andrea Schulz, a lawyer at Grant Thorton, told TechCrunch. If they don’t, they risk being fined by the state, or other consequences.
The problem, experts say, is that each state has its own complex fees, tax, and business registration requirements. And state-level compliance isn’t something top-of-mind for startup founders, nor is it a priority for an early-stage founder’s precious budget dollars, Schulz said.
“In some cases every dollar is going to the customer-facing solution,” Schulz said. “That is really why it ultimately happens. It’s not that it is too onerous, or a lack of expertise in that area.”
Schulz says that, when founders do misstep on state rules and fees, the fines or other issues may not come to light until a startup is being acquired, thinking of going public, or going through an audit.
Today's scams can be as simple as picking up a phone call. To avoid the next fraud, there are good reasons to let your calls run to voicemail.
How do you know that the person on the other end of a phone call is really who they say they are?
Earlier in July, a Ferrari executive was flooded with a barrage of WhatsApp messages that appeared to come from his boss, the carmaker’s CEO, Benedetto Vigna. But the Ferrari executive didn’t recognize the number, and he couldn’t be sure it was really his boss.
Suspicious of the flurry of messages from the unknown number, the Ferrari executive still took a call with the person who claimed to be Vigna. Despite the fact that the purported CEO had Vigna’s southern Italian accent, the executive still felt something was off, so he asked the caller something only Vigna would know, something the two personally discussed days earlier.
“Sorry, Benedetto, but I need to identify you,” the executive said. And then the call abruptly ended, and a potentially colossal fraud was avoided, as reported by Bloomberg earlier this year.
If you think the Ferrari executive is a rare edge case for scammers, think again. For as long as we’ve had telephones, there have been people trying to trick someone into thinking they’re someone else. Now, as with the case of the attempt against Ferrari, voice AI tools make it so that scammers can clone someone’s voice and trick victims into thinking they’re talking to another person.
All of these attacks involve the phone, or rather, picking up a phone call. Once you pick up the call, scammers and fraudsters can use tactics designed to pressure and force you into acting quickly and hastily in a high-stress situation.
You’ve probably heard of some of these scams already.
Look, the police (or the feds) are not going to call you to claim that “you have a warrant out for your arrest” or to demand a payment to invalidate the warrant. If there is an arrest warrant out for you, the police won’t leave you a threatening voicemail; they will come to your house.
It’s unlikely that your healthcare provider will call you to demand payment over the phone without first sending you a letter or a paper bill. The FBI says that healthcare fraud can affect anyone and ranges from scammers impersonating healthcare providers to fraudulent claims that you owe a balance on a nonexistent bill.
And, yes, you actually should be wary of the person on the other end of a phone call who claims to be from your bank, or from your workplace, or from an online tech company calling you to “verify your personal information,” or asking you to hand over a security code that was sent to your phone.

The capsule returned autonomously to Earth without its two crew members, NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who will remain aboard the station until next February. The space agency determined late last month that the pair will make their journey back to Earth onboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule, after Starliner experienced technical issues early in the mission.
At a post-flight press conference on Saturday, NASA’s commercial crew program manager Steve Stich called the flight “darn near flawless.” He added that the successful mission provoked mixed feelings among staff.
“From a human perspective, all of us feel happy about the successful landing, but then there’s a piece of us, all of us, that we wish it would have been the way we had planned it,” he said. “We had planned to have the mission land with Butch and Suni onboard.”

Specifically, The Times found 1,500 channels operated by white supremacists, two dozen channels selling weapons, and at least 22 channels where MDMA, cocaine, heroin and other drugs were advertised for delivery.
The company’s founder and CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in France last month, with authorities alleging that Telegram’s lack of content moderation made Durov an accomplice to illegal activity on the platform.
The platform subsequently updated its website to allow abuse reports, and Durov has been posting on his Telegram channel, arguing, “Using laws from the pre-smartphone era to charge a CEO with crimes committed by third parties on the platform he manages is a misguided approach.”

In other words, the social platform’s user base has grown by around 50 percent in the week or so since a Brazilian court banned X (formerly Twitter). The ban sent Bluesky to the top of the free iPhone app charts in Brazil, where it’s currently ranked number two, behind Meta’s competing app Threads.
In addition to sharing the latest user numbers, Bluesky also assured users old and new that video support is “coming soon.”
The platform started as a Twitter-backed initiative to create an open social protocol, but has since become an independent, venture-backed startup and fully opened to the public in February.
In an earlier post about growth, Bluesky said that 85% of its new users are Brazilian. Bringing on so many new users so quickly has led to occasional technical issues.
TechCrunch sat down with Shaikh this week at the Korea Blockchain Week 2024 conference in Seoul to talk about Aptos' expansion; its partnerships with major Asian web2 companies; and how Aptos uses blockchain to make financial transactions seamless and cost-effective.
As a young immigrant in Brooklyn, Mo Shaikh often pondered over his father’s taxi earnings. His father would say he made $100, but Shaikh couldn’t understand why only $60 made it home. (The rest, he learned, went to intermediaries.) This early experience sparked his curiosity about financial systems, but also their shortcomings and the need for change.
Shaikh went on to study finance, economics and psychology at Hunter College, then got an MBA at University of Rochester. After he graduated, he started to cut his teeth in the professional world at places like BlackRock and Boston Consulting Group. But it was his move first to blockchain startup Consensys, and then Meta to work on its cryptocurrency efforts, that he realized that this was the solution to the inefficiencies he’d been witnessing since he was a child.
“I knew this was the place that I wanted to be,” he said.
Together with Avery Ching, he co-founded Aptos in 2021.
It’s been a wild ride for Shaikh and Aptos. Within three months of leaving Meta in December 2021 and founding the startup, it raised $200 million at a valuation of over $1 billion, led by Andreessen Horowitz. Just three months after that, it raised another $150 million. But the wild ride had some bumps: Its investors included the ill-fated FTX.
In the interim the company has continued to grow while also weathering many of the same problems other crypto companies have faced. In April, it launched Aptos Ascend, a full stack of financial features.
And now Aptos and Shaikh have their eye on expanding in Asia.
Aptos is already working with local partners. It announced on Friday a partnership with Libre, an investment infrastructure startup focused on tokenizing financial assets. Libre is a joint venture launched by Japanese bank Nomura’s digital asset unit Laser Digital and hedge fund Brevan Howard’s fintech and web3 incubation hub WebN Group.
Google Photos has also revamped its existing search option, allowing you to find images by describing them.
Google is testing its new “Ask Photos” feature that lets you explore your library of pictures in new ways. The feature, which Google first previewed in May, is rolling out to select Google Labs users in the US and will let you ask things like, “Where did we camp last time we went to Yosemite?” or “What did we eat at the hotel in Stanley?”
Using Google’s Gemini AI models, the Photos app will then offer a response based on the content in your photos, as well as pull up images relevant to your question.
Google says you can even use Ask Photos to complete tasks, such as summarizing things you did on a recent vacation or choosing the best pictures of your family to put in a shared album. You can sign up for the waitlist to access Ask Photos on Google’s website.
When using Ask Photos, Google will let you switch to what it now calls “classic search” — or the current way of finding images. But Google is giving this an upgrade, too, as you can now search for pictures using natural language, such as “Alice and me laughing” or “Kayaking on a lake surrounded by mountains.” You can then sort your search results by date or relevance. This feature is rolling out in English on Android and iOS, with more support for more languages arriving in the “coming weeks.”
But it’s only for new kitchens made by Nobilia and only in Europe for now.
Philips Hue is finally getting into smart under-cabinet kitchen lighting. But as it’s Hue, the company is doing it in the most expensive way possible, and it will be at least a year before it comes to the US. Still, the new fully integrated smart lighting solution looks like a pretty sweet solution if you hanker for full-color lighting to go with your avocado toast — with no plugs or wires in sight.
This week at the IFA tech show in Berlin, Philips Hue’s parent company, Signify, announced a partnership with Nobilia, Europe’s largest kitchen manufacturer, which integrates custom Philips Hue smart lights into its kitchen furniture.
To date, Hue has only offered plug-in light strips controllable by wireless switches. Hardwiring them into your kitchen requires using a third-party solution, so this is an exciting step in the right direction. There are some options from other companies for this type of integrated, color-changing smart lighting — GE Cync recently released a smart kitchen lighting system that can be hardwired — but Hue fans have lacked a simple solution.
The Nobilia partnership includes two new Philips Hue lighting options specifically designed for kitchen furniture: color-capable recessed spotlights for cabinets and linear gradient light bars for shelving made specifically for the partnership. These connect to the Hue Bridge to work with your Hue lighting system and sync with other lights.
The new lights are integrated into the Nobilia cabinetry and hardwired into your home’s electrical system, so they will only work for new kitchens; it’s not a simple retrofit or DIY solution yet.

Those issues are the focus of Gates' latest project: an upcoming five-part Netflix docuseries called "What's Next? The Future With Bill Gates," set to premiere on September 18.

Star Wars Outlaws is a new open-world action-adventure game by Ubisoft, and not another god-awful Star Wars TV series, so for that, we're thankful. But is it a good game? Well, we're not here to review it, but with an average critic rating of 73, it seems at least decent. Honestly, aside from a few broken animations and some graphical glitches – which shouldn't be present in the final version – it played well up until the point where we stopped playing and started benchmarking.
Today, we're doing the usual thing where we lock ourselves in the benchmark lab for a few days, causing us to lose any sense of time and messing up our circadian rhythm worse than your PC after the last Windows update. Anyway, this isn't about our psychosis, but rather all the data that resulted from it…
First things first: the benchmark pass. After playing the game for a few hours, we decided to test on the arid moon known as 'Toshara.' Essentially, the test starts when exiting the 'Gambling Parlour' and ends when we exit the main building. The test is carried out with the character sprinting and takes 30 seconds to complete.
We chose this area because it's very demanding on both the CPU and GPU. For example, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D saw CPU usage hover between 65-80%, which is very high. We suspect many CPUs will struggle with this title, especially in the more demanding sections.
Now for the test conditions: we have five configurations, each tested at three resolutions, all using the 16:9 aspect ratio with up to 43 GPUs. This gives us 522 data points in total, so we have a lot to cover. All five configurations have been tested using quality upscaling with the 'fixed mode,' as we believe this is how most gamers will play the game.
We then have two configurations using RTX Direct Lighting – one with frame generation enabled and the other without. There's also the more standard 'ultra,' 'high,' and 'medium' preset testing, again with quality upscaling enabled. GPUs that support DLSS 3 frame generation used that, while the rest used FSR frame generation.

Recently I took on the challenge of managing the new YouTube page of a content creator. Their new page only had around 350 followers, was lacking traction and didn't have any videos with over 100 views when I started managing it around 30+ days ago.
In one month's time we have doubled the follower count, released a vid that got 10k+ views, and have exponentially increased view time.
Having NO previous experience with YouTube I'm happy with the results we achieved so far. By default I've leveled up a lot of my design/media skills and looking forward to bringing them on chain. Now that the YT page is established you can expect this creator on InLEO real soon.

xpilar was on vacation with his family and did not know about the actions of his AI bot and everything that was happening, when he returned home he saw that his reputation was already -4.
In addition, too many emojis were used in the messages, which irritated people, as well as requests to follow a link to support a witness.
The AI behaved like a hacker, which was noted by witnesses and as a result, thousands of comments that it sent to users were downvoted.

What was it designed to do.
Apparently to support the community with unique comments, but since the AI was trained to write comments from users, in different languages, this took the form of spam.
Spam bots have been around for years. The advantage is that Leo can have those accounts how show. It is still written to chain and in a block explorer but not on Leo.
You know that I am not an expert in this field and I can be wrong in the nuances, but the overall picture of what was happening looked like something that should have been warned you about :) !BEER
Well AI can be used for nefarious reasons although that is simply a bot that, I guess, Steemit built.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. has reached a significant milestone in its expansion into the US. Recent trial production at the company's new Arizona facility has yielded results comparable to those of its established plants in Taiwan, according to Bloomberg, which cited a person familiar with the company who requested anonymity. This development is a positive sign for the chipmaker's ambitious US project, which has faced delays and doubts about whether it could match the production efficiency of its Taiwanese operations.
The Arizona plant began engineering wafer production in April using advanced 4-nanometer process technology. With production yields now on par with its facilities in Tainan, Taiwan, TSMC should be able to maintain its targeted gross margin rates of 53 percent or higher.
TSMC has much at stake with its US operations. The company plans to invest $65 billion in three plants in Arizona, making it the largest foreign direct investment in Arizona history and the largest foreign direct investment in a greenfield project in US history.
Concurrently, the US government is providing substantial support through grants and loans. TSMC is set to receive up to $6.6 billion in grants and $5 billion in loans for its Arizona project.
TSMC's Arizona facility is on track to begin production at its first fab in the first half of 2025. The second fab, set to start production in 2028, will produce chips using 2nm process technology with next-generation nanosheet transistors, in addition to 3nm technology. The third fab will focus on 2nm or more advanced processes, with production expected to commence by the end of the decade.

The ChromeOS camera app now supports Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract text from captured images of letters or other documents. It allows users to copy or search the text in images, more easily convert images into searchable PDFs, and have the built-in ChromeOS screen reader speak image-based text. Google says its OCR supports both horizontal and vertical detection in 77 languages, and is disabled by default in photo mode.
Additionally, the Magnifier tool will now work with ChromeVox — allowing the screen magnifier to automatically follow words when text is read aloud, helping visually impaired users to keep their place. Carta spokesperson Amanda Taggart told TechCrunch that the company just missed the proper timeline to file its yearly report and pay the corresponding tax. Taggart added that the company has remedied the situation and is waiting on Illinois to return it to good standing. Yin Wu, the founder and CEO of Pulley, said that the company has filed the outstanding returns and is in the process of getting its license reinstated.
Startups like Carta and Pulley are definitely not alone in running afoul of state business rules. Plus, while these companies both had registered in these states as required and ran into issues later, many startups don’t begin the registration process in each state when they should at all.
When startups have employees in a state, conduct an acquisition or sign up customers there, they typically need to register in the state and maintain themselves in good standing. That includes paying their state taxes and fees on an ongoing basis, Andrea Schulz, a lawyer at Grant Thorton, told TechCrunch. If they don’t, they risk being fined by the state, or other consequences.
The problem, experts say, is that each state has its own complex fees, tax, and business registration requirements. And state-level compliance isn’t something top-of-mind for startup founders, nor is it a priority for an early-stage founder’s precious budget dollars, Schulz said.
“In some cases every dollar is going to the customer-facing solution,” Schulz said. “That is really why it ultimately happens. It’s not that it is too onerous, or a lack of expertise in that area.”
Schulz says that, when founders do misstep on state rules and fees, the fines or other issues may not come to light until a startup is being acquired, thinking of going public, or going through an audit.

Today's scams can be as simple as picking up a phone call. To avoid the next fraud, there are good reasons to let your calls run to voicemail.
How do you know that the person on the other end of a phone call is really who they say they are?
Earlier in July, a Ferrari executive was flooded with a barrage of WhatsApp messages that appeared to come from his boss, the carmaker’s CEO, Benedetto Vigna. But the Ferrari executive didn’t recognize the number, and he couldn’t be sure it was really his boss.

Suspicious of the flurry of messages from the unknown number, the Ferrari executive still took a call with the person who claimed to be Vigna. Despite the fact that the purported CEO had Vigna’s southern Italian accent, the executive still felt something was off, so he asked the caller something only Vigna would know, something the two personally discussed days earlier.
“Sorry, Benedetto, but I need to identify you,” the executive said. And then the call abruptly ended, and a potentially colossal fraud was avoided, as reported by Bloomberg earlier this year.
If you think the Ferrari executive is a rare edge case for scammers, think again. For as long as we’ve had telephones, there have been people trying to trick someone into thinking they’re someone else. Now, as with the case of the attempt against Ferrari, voice AI tools make it so that scammers can clone someone’s voice and trick victims into thinking they’re talking to another person.
All of these attacks involve the phone, or rather, picking up a phone call. Once you pick up the call, scammers and fraudsters can use tactics designed to pressure and force you into acting quickly and hastily in a high-stress situation.
You’ve probably heard of some of these scams already.
Look, the police (or the feds) are not going to call you to claim that “you have a warrant out for your arrest” or to demand a payment to invalidate the warrant. If there is an arrest warrant out for you, the police won’t leave you a threatening voicemail; they will come to your house.
It’s unlikely that your healthcare provider will call you to demand payment over the phone without first sending you a letter or a paper bill. The FBI says that healthcare fraud can affect anyone and ranges from scammers impersonating healthcare providers to fraudulent claims that you owe a balance on a nonexistent bill.

Shaikh went on to study finance, economics and psychology at Hunter College, then got an MBA at University of Rochester. After he graduated, he started to cut his teeth in the professional world at places like BlackRock and Boston Consulting Group. But it was his move first to blockchain startup Consensys, and then Meta to work on its cryptocurrency efforts, that he realized that this was the solution to the inefficiencies he’d been witnessing since he was a child.
“I knew this was the place that I wanted to be,” he said.
Together with Avery Ching, he co-founded Aptos in 2021.
It’s been a wild ride for Shaikh and Aptos. Within three months of leaving Meta in December 2021 and founding the startup, it raised $200 million at a valuation of over $1 billion, led by Andreessen Horowitz. Just three months after that, it raised another $150 million. But the wild ride had some bumps: Its investors included the ill-fated FTX.
In the interim the company has continued to grow while also weathering many of the same problems other crypto companies have faced. In April, it launched Aptos Ascend, a full stack of financial features.
And now Aptos and Shaikh have their eye on expanding in Asia.
Aptos is already working with local partners. It announced on Friday a partnership with Libre, an investment infrastructure startup focused on tokenizing financial assets. Libre is a joint venture launched by Japanese bank Nomura’s digital asset unit Laser Digital and hedge fund Brevan Howard’s fintech and web3 incubation hub WebN Group.

To date, Hue has only offered plug-in light strips controllable by wireless switches. Hardwiring them into your kitchen requires using a third-party solution, so this is an exciting step in the right direction. The Nobilia partnership includes two new Philips Hue lighting options specifically designed for kitchen furniture: color-capable recessed spotlights for cabinets and linear gradient light bars for shelving made specifically for the partnership. These connect to the Hue Bridge to work with your Hue lighting system and sync with other lights.

Honestly, aside from a few broken animations and some graphical glitches – which shouldn't be present in the final version – it played well up until the point where we stopped playing and started benchmarking.

First things first: the benchmark pass. After playing the game for a few hours, we decided to test on the arid moon known as 'Toshara.' Essentially, the test starts when exiting the 'Gambling Parlour' and ends when we exit the main building. The test is carried out with the character sprinting and takes 30 seconds to complete.
We chose this area because it's very demanding on both the CPU and GPU. For example, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D saw CPU usage hover between 65-80%, which is very high. We suspect many CPUs will struggle with this title, especially in the more demanding sections.
Now for the test conditions: we have five configurations, each tested at three resolutions, all using the 16:9 aspect ratio with up to 43 GPUs. This gives us 522 data points in total, so we have a lot to cover. All five configurations have been tested using quality upscaling with the 'fixed mode,' as we believe this is how most gamers will play the game.
We then have two configurations using RTX Direct Lighting – one with frame generation enabled and the other without. There's also the more standard 'ultra,' 'high,' and 'medium' preset testing, again with quality upscaling enabled. GPUs that support DLSS 3 frame generation used that, while the rest used FSR frame generation.

Yeah, that what I tried with my website a few years ago. My age group is lazy and many of them don't think that functional kettlebell fitness is good for them. I made also a few videos showing how to do it right. Guess what? Funny videos make more views than educational fitness videos.
