I have a very small amount of Hive that is liquid so it would do anything for me to profit on other then make my account look really good. If it stayed long term at $5 and only went up now that would be something special.
I suppose that many of us are in the same position as you... A lot of locked HIVE and if $5 would last, we will be good, if not, maybe buy a little treat for ourselves... 😃

I would to the same thing I did yesterday and the same thing I am doing today. For me, the price of Hive doesn't change anything. I am in for the long run...working for my retirement. What Hive does right now is irrelevant.
That's a great attitude... It's hard to resist when the time comes, but it can bring a lot of upsides if you do...

That'll surely be huge if it goes to $5, I'll withdraw around 20% of my Hive, the rest i'll keep posting and curating as the curation will be so rewarding!
I'll turn some of my Hive for HBD and the 20% ROI and buy some assets on Plat2Earn games like Splinterlands!

This is a great question that almost everyone answered the same way. Sell the liquid Hive so it can buy back even more at the bottom.)
Joy and elation immediately come to mind. But what if the day after tomorrow we see $6, and a month later $10? Maybe in a year $100? One has to be prepared for such an eventuality. That's why I would sell in installments. And the second thing that bugs me is that I don't have 100K to 200K Hive. Which could solve all my future problems to focus only on the important stuff. Including working within Hive...

It's a good dream hehe! I will probably celebrate and go out and have a good meal, and maybe sell/unstake some of my Hive to go for a nice holiday, and convert some into HBD, and keep the remaining 50% as Hive.

If the price to $5 tomorrow from where it is today, first I would try to understand the reason behind the pump. Is the reason good enough to keep the price up there? If not, I would lock in some of the increase by converting Hive to HBD. If the price pumped that quickly in a 24 hour period with no great/excellent reason, it will return to previously level almost just as quickly. Then once it had dropped I would convert some of the HBD back to hive.

I like your "IF-THEN" thinking... :) Having a short-term pump or a long-term pump makes a huge difference and we should act accordingly...
If Hive went to $5, I would try to sell my liquid Hive for HBD to lock in those nice gains!!
That's probably what I would do as well and if Hive tanks change back ;-)

Well, I have a part that I separated from hive a long time ago, so I think I would take advantage of this value to sell that part.
With that, the remainder that I would earn daily, I believe it would be a good idea to try to reinvest within the hive itself.

If HIVE went to $5??? It's gonna be a dilemma between withdrawing and re-investing. High price = hard to compound while it's a good opportunity to withdraw but withdraw means losing the asset to re-invest. I think the best option for me is 25%/75% 🤔 25% withdraw and 75% hold to compound.
My condition:
All tokens hold to compound while around 1% to withdraw 🤔 🤣

It would completely depend on why. If it was because LeoThreads took off and brought in thousands more users, or Splinterlands, or PsyberX, etc., then I would probably just keep hodling. If it just happened out of the blue, I'd probably power down a chunk and try and lock in some gains in HBD to use to buy back if and when it came back down. I need $20 Hive to be a millionaire so...$5 wouldn't be enough. :-)
Although, I will say that I'd be posting a ton as rewards would be awesome. 😁

This is really a hypothetical question! I don't think it will be. Then I would be worth (my wallet 😁) about $35,000.00.
The second question is, what would be the most worthwhile? I think someone already answered, I would convert it to HBDs and stake it.
Who know what the future holds. When I first earned 5000 satoshis from one faucet claim, nobody could predity that three years later I would only get 5 satoshis from the same faucet lol.

If Hive goes to 5$, I would first dance of joy 💃💃💃😎 . Then I would trade some of my Hive for HBD to buy more when the price makes a correction.
And finally, I would use some of my Hive to travel somewhere I have always wanted to go, and before the start of our trip, I would look at my husband with an I told you it was worth it kind of face😂

Wow, this is a good question. I haven't been on a holiday for a long while, probably get some funds out for a short trip to recharge.
After the trip, the back to business to continue accumulating and growing.
I wouldn't mind to finance a short holiday with my hive either :-)

It depends. Is it the "semi regular" pump courtesy of the Koreans over at Upbit? Or has it been a slow sustained rise to $5?
I've always taken advantage of the short 1 day pump in prices to sell my HIVE into HBD and then wait for it to inevitably go back down to normal levels to buy it all back again. If that's the case, then my answer is to SELL it all and buy it back later.
If it has been a slow and steady rise, then it's pointless to sell. I would just continue accumulating and going about what I'm doing everyday.
Very good answer :-). I also like to use these 1 day pumps to work in this direction. I often use the swap.hive:swap.busd pool for that. Since I also provide liquidity, I earn on both levels :-)

This is a late response but here it comes.
That depends.
Are you talking about a huge pump to 5$ and then a dump within 24 hours or at most several days?
Then there isn't much I can do. I would probably sell my liquid Hive, If I am inspired I would buy HIVE with HBD at the beginning and sell later (but I doubt I'd do this in practice since I wouldn't know how high the pump would go), I would probably remove Hive from LPs, and sell it as well. I wouldn't start any new power-down since for me it takes an additional 5 days to have delegation returned before powering down.
If we are talking about a longer trend that leads to Hive being 5$ at some point, but not as a result of a pump, that would be absolutely fantastic for everyone involved in the Hive ecosystem and I believe we would see much more activity around here at that time. Depending on the factors that led to the price increase (bull market or Hive itself becoming much more popular?), I might take one decision or another.
That was a long answer, but nice thinking about the topic... Reading your opinion, I got aware that I would probably do something similar... In the case of the long-term pump, I suppose I wouldn't power down my HIVE, but rather enjoy my curation rewards and use it like a regular everyday income... Spending it on daily basis and enjoying the life... 😃

Good question! I'd probably power down maybe 25% and swap it to HBD to earn interest. This is cos I made a plan to do so when I bought it at 0.25. Would be a really nice profit. 😊

A bit late answering this question, but I still want to answer!
If HIVE suddenly rocketed up to $5, I would pull 50% of my diesel pool HIVE liquidity (about 230 HIVE) and sell for HBD ($1150), putting it in savings for an extra $20/month passive income. If HIVE dropped back down to a dollar or so, I would buy it back with the HBD interest payments and power up for increased curation rewards and delegations into various projects.
