I'd like to hear what you'd define as "existential burnout." What does it mean to you?

When you're having what feels like general burnout - a sort of apathy towards everything and a decreased will to address your current routine - that's a key to really take a break and make some type of a change to your routine. It might seem like you're breaking your path towards your goal, but in fact it is an important part of the path and will help re-energize you and help you get towards your goal faster and stronger. Something to keep in mind, and for what it's worth, I also speak from personal experience.

Wishing you strength in any case.

thanks. I wrote a post about it a few days ago. It’s just general frustration over things I have no power over. A feeling that nothing matters and I might as well just escape. It’s not about working too hard or anything like that although I did come to the conclusion that I need to create space for meditation and just general reset of my thoughts. A chance to tune my emotional guitar a bit

A feeling that nothing matters and I might as well just escape

I've actually pondered this before, and to overly simplify the concept, I came to this conclusion: if nothing really matters, then it's simply not worth worrying about. May as well be happy about whatever it is we have! (Easier said than done, yes)

In either case, it sounds like a change of routine would help you place things in perspective, so that you can get a better sense of what matters specifically to you. After all, this your life and experiences.

Please let us know what ends up working for you!

Absolutely yes to the meditation 🧘‍♀️ I feel I go out of tune as soon as I neglect this very healthy habit. Good reminder for myself too 💙

To me, "existential burnout" means a deep sense of disconnection and fatigue from the routine of life, almost like being at a crossroads where we are already forced to make a change.

That was also my first impression

I can relate because I experienced same thing last Friday and the sad thing was that I had gone shopping. It got to a point that I just found a place, sat down and asked for yogurt to see if I could gain some strength. Thank goodness I did if not I would have passed out. Some people who just faint along the way neglected the signs.

If it exists, I have gone through it repeatedly, that feeling of not having a purpose, of being disoriented.

But I practice an exercise: every night I pretend to die during my sleep, and at dawn I am reborn with new opportunities. Maybe it will work for you? It has worked for me.

Not exactly, but the exhaustion aspect close to such an idea appears to perhaps be. Then you're still going for something! Maybe time to take some time to clarify for what you are going for.

I feel you. This year has been tough. I experienced one burnout after another and sometimes it’s really hard to get up again. I found that exercising and eating better helps a lot. About 80% of serotonin is produced in our gut, that’s why looking after our gut is so important for our mood. When my eating gets out of hand, so does my mood drop drastically. Give it a go and hang in there fren 💙
